Copacabana Beach — Attraction in Çeşme

We went here as a family yesterday. The choice was between Copacabana and İbo’s Place. We chose Copacabana because we figured “how different can they be?” Upon entry the staff was friendly and helpful, as a foreign family we speak Turkish so communicating wasn’t a problem. We were helped in choosing chairs and an umbrella and informed of the WC, changing cabins and food choices. The beach itself was very clean, no trash or litter, the water was immaculate and it was great for our children. There were numerous other families and children and we never noticed any awkward guests. The changing facilities and toilets were well maintained and clean as well.

Our only complaint was the entry fee which was 500₺ a person! Fortunately our children are under 10 years so they were not charged, but for my wife and I we spent 1000₺, $36, or 33 Euro just to sit in 2 chairs under an umbrella! Food and drink prices were outrageous also. We had earlier spent the week in Chios/Sakız Adası in the town of Karfas where it was only 2 Euros to sit in two beach chairs with an umbrella. The food and drink prices at Chios were much much cheaper and the food quality was better. Copacabana at Altınkum Plajı was waaaaay overpriced for what was offered. Upon leaving we looked over at İbo’nun Yeri/ İBo’s Place which was advertised at 75₺ per person. Had we seen their prices before we never would have gone to Copacabana. A beach with very disrespectful staff. We were looking for a nice beach in Altinkum and asked the prices as we passed this one. They said the total was 2000₺, 1250₺ of which was the spending limit. After that, we decided not to stay there. When we tried to move on to check out other beaches, he shouted at us with a ridiculous attitude, telling us to "walk along the shore."
