This is a really beautiful lagoon, especially when seen from the skies (such as when paragliding), and that is where you’ll really appreciate the different blue and green colours of the lagoon.
On foot, at the beach it is very crowded with little space to put your towel down. The water is very calm and clear, but not the colour you see in pictures. The sand is gritty and gravelly.
We walked 12 minutes from the main road as it gets in to Oludeniz to reach the lagoon.
There are lots of public changing rooms and showers right next to the lagoon which is nice.
Just on the other side of the lagoon about 20m away is the main beach. This is pebbly. Lots of lounging chairs one has to rent for about 400TL, or you can set up on a towel by the side for free. The water here is nice and blue, mild waves when we went. Further along the coast the waves get bigger and the water turns even more cyan.
There is a golf cart taxi that can shuttle you from the main promenade to the lagoon and lagoon beach for 40TL. Car park is present but a huge queue to get in. This means getting a taxi is extremely difficult. Best option is to use the public minibuses. 30TL per person for a single journey. Can be found where the main road coming down in to Oludeniz...
Read moreOvercrowded to the point its tacky. People love it and without being to mean 🤣 I get why your cup of tea. Food places are nice and food is good too views from them are nice. Bit of con system you top up the card and if you want the rest of your money back you have to go the last restaurant which you might not want to eat at. Overall the place is nice view wise its just super tacky with the people that go there. If your offended by this I'm not sorry and its obvious why. The video is from the lesser used end everyone wants to be at the other end where its chaos and rife with hairy sunburnt men who should cover up at that age and women who shouldn't show it off even in black hole let alone a dark room. If you go get a sun bed where this vid is and enjoy the sand and sea view, watch paragliders over head and enjoy the mountain view. Take it or leave you have been warned. Ps the drive down to this place is a steep hill there's parking there but you can also park in dodgy left turn before the last right turn you will an oto park sign going into a little road/path and its 150 lira for...
Read moreDONT BE FOOLED BY THE PICTURES... This place used to be an idyllic nature reserve and it's been destroyed by money grabbing businesses that have ruined the natural beauty of this area... You cant see the pristine white gravel beaches for thousands of sunbeds and umbrellas and the water that you could watch marine life swimming in, was merky and had so many people in the water that there was no chance of seeing anything other than them. Don't mention the raft of pedalos and other tourist attractions as well as coffeeshops (including Starbucks) and restaurants littered over what was once dunes for wildlife to thrive in... There is a car park that is constantly full with hundreds of cars queuing at all times of the day... There is supposed to be a limit of people entering the lagoon but when we visited (you have to pay for entry) there was zero space anywhere and people were still pouring in... If you remember how it once was... Don't go back and ruin your memories like I did... To the people who have alowed his to happen... Hang your heads...
