This was possibly my favourite spot on the entire island.

TLDR: Must see spot

The drive down is treacherous. I saw a number of small cars down in the car park right at the beach and personally I do not recommend driving any car down this road. It would be extremely easy to get stuck or do major damage to a rental car. You do not want your holiday ruined by having to deal with dealing with the financial fallout of a poor decision. Any rental car company will take every dollar from you if you damage a car on this trail. I suggest only attempting this road with a skilled driver and all-wheel drive/4X4 and a vehicle that has a high clearance off the ground. If you only have a car, I suggest parking at a safe spot (before the red barrier/gate) and walking down to the beach. Once you pass the red barrier/gate, the road gets really rough, really fast.

Anyway at this point, let's assume you have made it down safely. There are no washrooms, running water, beach attendants, vendors, lifeguards down here. Usually, this place is empty. Be warned that along the entire path off the main road, all the way to the water, there are many security cameras, including some rotating cameras that monitor the beach and the sea. This is a really isolated beach with spectacular views. There is a gazebo if you need some shade while out enjoying the view. There are some really nice reefs, both real and artificial that make for memorable diving. There are posted maps and visuals that help you get an idea of what you will find.

This spot was recommended to me by a fellow tourist, and I am glad i was able to make the trek down. I think everyone should make...

We really enjoyed this beach. First, take the road that goes straight past the cell towers don't turn left like Google maps wants you to, to go through the resort area. Second, the road is rough but any car can make it. Take it slow and steady and you'll be fine. No idea who these people are saying you need four wheel drive, that's totally unnecessary our little compact handled it fine. (BTW we tried it with our car because the main tourist website for TCI said small cars can handle it, and they were right. Drive slow, pick your path and don't be an idiot and you'll be fine.) The only caveat is if it's been raining you may want to let it dry out a bit as the roads get a lot of standing puddles.

As for the beach, it was beautiful. Not many people at all and very calm. Rocks near the shore so not necessarily a great swimming beach they were actually smooth and could be walked on without water shoes, if you pick the right place. The best part is that since it was so calm, the snorkeling was excellent. Not necessarily as good as Smith's reef but being able to see the artificial reefs they put in, the super clear water, not many people, and the relaxed vibe, Also you can see where the undersea Internet cable makes landfall, easy to spot when snorkeling near the gazebo, that's why the cameras are there, not for beach security but for those cables.

I totally recommend making the drive out there. Really cool out of the way place. Also, you can find some cool shells there since it doesn't get picked over like...

We called this the Secret Beach, its actually north of Malcolm Beach if you look at Google Earth you can see the separate roadway north of the road to Malcolm. Tricky to find but we went several times and were the only ones there. Offshore to the north end of the beach is a terrific reef about 100 meters offshore, rivals the Coral Gardens, but not roped off and crawling with 100 amateurs flapping their flippers in your face, I snorkeled the wall from there about 1/3 mile offshore - you can see the scuba boats lining up in the morning. Not for the faint of heart, expert swimmers only, its an easy trip out but a hard slog back against the wind. Met my friend the shark out there, he circled me slowly and watched me - I knew intuitively I was safe as there were lots of other tasty things for him to eat besides me, but it is still a SHARK and in 200 feet of open clear water...Best Beach...
