Well nothing bad about the show, the dancers and the host (from the part of what we saw)…
I would say it is very touristic yes, so if you want something more authentic, don’t go for this…
But that is not what results in the lowest possible rating - that is the price, staff and service - of which the last mentioned was nonexistent.
They charge you about 25 USD per person to watch the show, you pay 16 USD per person for a buffet AND count drinks on top of that.
Based on our stay in Kampala, this is VERY pricy for poor food, compared to what you could get at other places that delivers something much better than your all-you-can-eat buffet.
We could have gone on without any complaints and enjoyed the show despite price and poor food, but sadly we had to deal with staff-members who have no clue of what service is…
We wanted to pay for our food with dollars as we had no schillings left. We gave the waiter 100 USD for 3 persons dinner (=48 USD). He then disappears for 30 minutes, without a word, which leaves us a bit confused and worried about our money. He shows up and returns us 17 USD in schillings, which means I have now lost 37 USD, which I try to explain to the guy, who does not understand it. Already here I feel scammed.. the guy comes back again after 15 minutes with almost all the money except some few dollars. I again try to explain that it is incorrect, and he informs me that they use a different exchange rate - I check it again with this in mind and still I find money missing… and this is all going on during a show that I have payed to watch? I mean come on…
So now, the floor-manager has been called, which leads us to the finance-manager. We tell that the amount we have received is wrong, that we have not been informed about the clearly inferior exchange rate applied and that this whole thing has made us spent half the show discussing payment issues, why we would at least like to get our 100 USD bill back so we could pay by card instead. This is apparently an issue and we need to really emphasize these issues just to be allowed to pay them by other means than our USD notes.
We then discover in this conversation that the exchange rate applied is different from what we were told by the waiter second time he arrived back, but still there is something wrong in the payment returns…
Not to mention the drinks, we ordered and waited for about 1,5 hours, that never showed up… We left on the spot despite having seen literally nothing of the show.
There is a serious need for someone with people and service skills...
