Alwathba wetland reserve is a place must see to everyone living in Abu Dhabi. Amazing place and peaceful as well! It’s a while drive but it’s great! Keep in mind to wear sport shoes and to bring a bottle of water with you.
I would like to thank Claudia Steuber for taking me and my sisters on an amazing tour and explaining the type of trees , plants , infects and animals there. She’s a volunteer photographer and researcher and knows so much about our city and native plants
Enhancements that can be done to the place: Tour Guied to the place as people need to understand what is there and types of plants. Enhancement to the building at the entrance and more staff that can use buggy cars if needed to drive for tours To sell souvenirs (magnets, keychains, pens, notebook) something of remembrance to whoever visits the place. I got cash with me and card hoping to purchase something but nothing of such sort sadly. Path needs a tag with how many areas to go through. How many KM has been covered. Where to go? Left or right. Some areas has a closed road with no sign. 5.probably open the area on the other side that has lions cheetahs and tigers to the public To remove the two locations on google maps as one is misleading the other is accurate. (After the workers camp. On the right go straight up until you see the fence with the wetlands. Until the end of fence turn right and then right again. You reach the place when...

Read more1st of all dis is not a review of the place. The place is fantastic and very gud for nature lovers and I have been 2 dis place several times. But today I had a very bad experience at the gate. I reached the place at 4.04 pm (4mins late) but i saw they allowing couple of folks inside so i parked and rushed to the gate since the last entry time was mentioned as 4.pm on their website. But the security guard did not allow me, saying the time is up. I requested him saying its only 4 minutes, but he did not allow, and he pushed me out. I don't know how dare he touched some 3rd party, dat also in this pandemic times where we are asked to maintain social distancing. I am sure if I was one of the privileged nationalities he wouldn't have done that. Such unprofessionalism was never expected. I am utterly disppointed, especially considering it happened in a place where I have lived all my life. I request the authorities to kindly advise the staff to behave properly with the public, regardless of their skin tone. Also, I request you to provide correct timing in your website which says last entry till 4 and closing at 5.30 whereas the information at the site says last entry at 2pm and...
