Mangrove Bridge, Kalba – A Perfect Blend of Conservation and Tourism

The Mangrove Bridge in Kalba is a hidden gem that every nature lover and eco-tourism enthusiast must visit. With a small entry fee, visitors are provided with a pick-and-drop service, making it a hassle-free experience. The well-maintained wooden bridge takes you through the lush mangrove forest, offering breathtaking views and a chance to see diverse wildlife, including rare birds and marine creatures.

What makes this place truly remarkable is how it has been transformed into a major tourist attraction while preserving its natural ecosystem. The efforts taken to protect and sustain the mangroves serve as a model for eco-tourism development.

Kerala’s tourism authorities should take inspiration from this project, as the state is rich in backwaters and wetlands that can be developed in a similar sustainable manner. Kalba’s mangrove conservation proves that tourism and environmental protection can go hand in hand, making it a must-visit site for both travelers and policymakers alike.

Whether you’re a photographer, nature enthusiast, or just looking for a peaceful retreat, Mangrove Bridge in Kalba is an experience you won’t...

Loved the site. It's beautiful to see how much things get changed slowly if left untouched by humans and how mangroves can quietly play a very efficient role in our habitat. It's an educational site even for kids to understand the importance of mangroves. Place is very nicely built with bridge passing on the water where you get to see beautiful fishes doing their dance if you are lucky which we were. And then the bridge takes you to bird watching site through the mangroves. While there, you can see beautiful sunset in between the mountains. We and kids enjoyed visiting the place. Fish aquariums are very beautiful and educational too. Staff is...

we explored the mangrove forest via a wooden walking bridge. The views were beautiful and gave a real sense of the natural ecosystem. Along the way, there are small hut-style observation stations designed for watching migratory birds. Unfortunately, during this visit, there weren’t any migratory birds to see, but the place itself was still very peaceful and worth exploring. Overall, it’s a great spot for nature lovers, bird watchers, or anyone who wants to enjoy a quiet and unique outdoor experience...

Great place for family and friends surrounded by nature and learning in the process. Entrance fee is AED15 excluding VAT and it takes about an hour to complete the tour. There's a picnic area as well.
