Khorfakkan Fort | حصن خورفكان — Attraction in Khor Fakkan

Stumbled across this beautifully restored fort on a Saturday afternoon - it is supposed to be open until 8pm. When we came around 6 It was almost empty. We were greeted very friendly by the local staff. The lady at the cashier explained the general rules and the gentleman went with us into the fort. He took the time to show us around and even opened for us the exit which leads to the old city wall (behind the fort) and he went with us to the top of the guard tower. As directed by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, Hisn Khor Fakkan was rebuilt to replicate the 1950s ـــ 1960s design of the original nearby fort, offering a unique opportunity to the public to enjoy this outstanding collection. The Museum opened on Saturday, 13th April 2019.

We stumbled across this gem when we went for a stroll near Khorfakkan's old souq. Admission is very minimal but the amount of knowledge I got was great. You can learn about the City's and the region's rich history through the relics on display and stories of trade and war. If you're in the area, this is a very nice addition to your itinerary.
