Capital of Islamic Culture Memorial 2014 — Attraction in Sharjah

Whoever is passing thru Sharjah Airport-Dhaid road is used to see The iconic monument tower. But those pictures which I've shared here is basically nearby Sharjah Islamic World Garden's photo which newly developed and open for public. But still it's not showing in Google Map. Here is just a little discreption of the park -

This garden/park is to provide visitors the information about some well-known Muslim scholars.

The park is having Food Court, Children's play areas in both sandy and astroturf, located both side of food court which covers around 1400 sqm. In addition 3 farm ponds and green spaces covering whole area along with 1.8 km walkways. Two water fountains are there with a diameter of 8 meters and a maximum height of 2 meters. There is 4 entrance gates located at 4 sides of fences to enter in the park.

Ideal for Jogging and roaming around with kids specially for neighborhoods residents.

It rises from the ground level by 42 meters. The platform on which the monument project is erected is 650 square meters. The base area of the monument is 50 meters high. The lower diameter of the column is 3.3 meters and the upper diameter is 2.6 meters. The platform covers three different types of Granite while the base of the column is covered with concrete reinforced with glass fibers and granite. The choice of Sharjah as the capital of Islamic culture came within the framework of the Islamic Culture Capitals Program, which is supervised and sponsored by the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) after it conformed to the basic conditions and standards of the Islamic cultural capitals.
