If you like small castles (e.g. Cumbrian pele towers), this is a little gem nestling in the countryside near Arnside. It was built in the late 14th century and there is still plenty to see (despite the ravages of time). The tower is very accessible despite being on private property. You can park in the large layby on the road close to Arnside Tower Farm. Then walk up the farm drive until you reach the marked footpath on the right which leads you to the tower without passing through the farm. Its a fairly gentle incline but a bit rocky in places and watch out for the...

Worth a visit as part of a bigger walk but not as a specific trip just to see the tower as you are not allowed inside (it's unstable &...

Lovely impromptu walk on a lovely warm November Saturday. Many a year since visiting here, parked in Silverdale and walked along the coast to Arnside. And back via the Arnside knot and Arnside tower. Fantastic views of Lancashire one side and Cumbria the other! Can't wait to walk again, highly recommended! Lovely...

Same parking place as Arnside Trig point Easy path to follow down and by the farm Free to visit Tower stands in the middle of the field with usually plenty of horses around, the horses are amenable and didn't bother us or the dog Shame about the ruins, places like this need protection from going to ruin
