A walk on Castlerock beach is not complete without a dander down the pier too. The surface has some rough areas on it from wear, however on the whole it is wide and safe to feel comfortable on in all but the worst weather. The waves will crash over the end and to be avoided on those worst days! Views West to Mussenden, Magilligan's Point and Donegal and to the East Portstewart and...

Well worth visiting the Barmouth, from either side - Portstewart, or Castlerock. We regularly visit, and most recently the friendly local seal was most engaged by our pup, they were watching each other keenly.

Occasionally see harbour porpoise, fisherfolks and surfers.

Remember to take your rubbish home, and pick up any rubbish that others...

It is really worth the trek up the beach to visit. I came from the west strand direction and it is about two and a half miles each way. It was worth it for the views and enjoyed the sunset! It is difficult on the rocks so be careful but it's stunning views of portstewart...

A unique structure at the end of the beach with amazing views for any keen photographer and on a blustery day it's absolutely fantastic, be careful though as it will be wet under foot
