Fantastic long, wide beach even at high tide. You can see right over to flamborough headland as well as Bridlington to the left and down to Barmston to the right. Lots of people walking dogs off lead (30 + upwards both times I visited 31st Aug & 7 Sep 2025) despite the number of dogs and people there's plenty of space and you are not on top of each other, far from it in fact. Didn't come across any issues with other dogs, everybody's friendly and the dogs seem to love socialising. Car park is on uneven ground and takes a while to drive around to exit so be mindful on your parking time, also factor in your time to get to the machine after parking on arrival & paying for parking for every minute you are there because they'll have you for every minute you overstay and fine you £100. ANPR camera is right at the boundary as you enter and exit from the road. Plenty of parking though and very easy access to the beach from the car park. No steps or steep inclines/declines to access on or off beach 😁 However imo not suitable for wheelchair users as there is no path or flat ground for wheelchairs to go on it's very uneven loose ground and entry to beach is slightly sloped. Maybe you could cope if you were in a wheelchair for off-road terrain. There is a cafe in front of the car park that has a level car park with tarmac and would be suitable for wheelchair users to park and to use the cafe which could give you views of the beach but it won't help you with the access to get onto beach I'm afraid. This beach is a perfect location to walk your dog come rain or shine in either direction you can't really go wrong. There are toilets just behind the cafe which people can use. They are basic but definitely useful. I highly recommend a visit

I went early morning this time. Not as sunny but did get busy later. Had a good walk and learnt something from a local man. The breakers(stones) on the beach were originally near the cliff face. That means that in 80years since they were placed there in the 40's the cliff has been eroded over 100yards. That's a lot to dissappear into the sea hence why some of the old coastal defence pill boxes are now on the beach, broken but evidence of the war years and the coastal erosion that has taken place in such a short time. You can as you walk along the beach also see some of the old fisherman's boat moorings and floats from a time gone by when the cliff line was closer than it is now and fisherman set off in their small fixing boats from Fraiserthorpe beach.

We had a nice morning at the beach. My only negatives are that there's no concessions for disabled parking, and then there's no disabled only spaces near the beach entrance so we had to push my daughter a long way over the bumpy, dusty track. The entrance to the beach isn't particularly accessible. Getting my daughter in her wheelchair down to the harder, wet sand was pretty difficult. Some kind of concrete ramp wouldn't be difficult/expensive to install. Seeing as there's now a brand new café, you'd think they would have thought about accessibility at the same time. They must make a lot of money from the hundreds of cars parked there every day. Shame really. A bit more consideration for disabled people/people with pushchairs wouldn't go a miss.

Great Beach to take the kids, walk the dogs or whatever else youd like to do on the beach. Took the grandkids and they didn't want to leave. Masses of open beach. Even with people walking dogs, horse riding, flying kites still plenty of room especially when the tides out. No amusements or anything just beach and sea! There is a cafe and takeaway though obviously restricted at the moment with the Covid thing..Oh and there's toilets! There is a charge for parking but that's only £3.00 and that goes to the owners of the cafe and adjacent campsite. And your car is near enough next to the beach so you can easily get back to it for your food/picnic etc. And if you really want a couple of miles walk along the beach and you're at the main Brid resort. Will definitely be...
