Barleylands Farm Park — Attraction in Basildon

Was an amazing day out with the family. Great place for kids. An entire day visit is valuable since the there are sessions scheduled. The cost is very reasonable.

Parking is very convenient.

The feeding packet available at the counter is affordable and will be useful to feed the animals. There are many animals to feed so possibly two packets of feed will be good for a family of two kids.

There are multiple kids cycling tractors available for kids to ride along their journey inside. Mainly great place for farm animal experience which includes petting and feeding. Ducks, chicks, rabbits, goats, and much more for petting. There are birds of prey as well which usually aren’t there in farm parks.

Indoor soft play area is available. Bouncy pillow, play area and also a kids token driving car. They have a small number of farm tractors and vehicles on display which seems like a mini museum. Good educational experience. The tractor ride was ok to experience a bumpy tractor ride but couldn’t find anything to see apart from horses.

The staff were amazing, friendly, informative and very professional. Really made the entire experience more enjoyable.

I would recommend that there should be a pipe shoot to drop the feed for the animals so that kids who hesitate to feed the animals could at least feed the animals through the shoot.

The birds of prey just had one bird show. There was only one bird talked about. The sound of the commentator was very inaudible due to poor speakers, microphone and perhaps the voice of the commentator himself.

Apart from the above overall was a great experience for family with young kids. ...

We came here earlier this summer and visited again 2 days ago because our boys (3 & 6) had such a great time the 1st time.

The farm is running the “party of the summer” this August with the Hilarious and brilliant “Skittleman” I’ve got so say this really adds to the value of day.

The boys went to both UV Discos (brilliant), two magic shows (both hilarious), the foam party (honestly the best we’ve seen this whole summer). Skittleman and his team don’t stop entertaining from 10:30am - 4pm, I’ve no idea where he gets the energy from!

The farm offerings are good too, there’s some good play areas outside (jumping pillows, a quick zip line and the usual climbing frames and swings etc) the indoor play barn is decent too.

Animal wise, the boys loved feeding the farm animals, watching the birds of prey show, the wallaby walkthrough and seeing the meerkats.

Add into this barrel rides, tractor rides and the air connons in the showdown shed, and you could easily spend a whole day here.

With the additional Fun provided by Skittleman and his team I honestly think we’ve not had a better value day this summer than Barleylands Farm.

The team there are all friendly and helpful and at the end of the day (trying to drag the kids out) my wife and I saw lots of staff were cleaning up everywhere getting ready for the next day.

PS…. Having read some reviews criticising the entertainer for being rude, we don’t see this at all on the days we visited (quite the opposite really) and the UV disco wasn’t weird at all… we saw so many kids loving it.
