This is another lovely beach on The Atlantic Ocean. The long sandy beautiful beach joins with Downhill Beach to the east and Magilligan Point, Northern Ireland's most north-westerly point to the west. However you must be aware that the route to Magilligan Point can be closed when the military firing ranges are in use. Red flags are flown when the range is active . The sound of gunfire can also be heard sometimes too. There is limited free parking near the beach entrance. Otherwise, it's a case of driving onto the beach itself. There's no fee for this and it is a popular option. However, you must stay on the firm hard sand or you run the risk of your car sinking into the sand and becoming stuck. Very handy for families as you can drive on with your car and there is also a very cool little coffee place here right at the beach and toilets (which are not always too clean, only negative) and showers. There is a beautiful board walk through the Dunnes which is also wheelchair or buggy accessible. At the Benone centre (follow the board walk to it if you parked at the beach or park there directly)there is a lovely Playpark for kids another cafe which also does food and in the summer month a little splash pool for children. I personally feel it's one of the most versatile and we'll equipped beaches. Nearly forgot... there is also a surf school and council owned camp site...
Read moreGreat beech I go to it everyday with my dog to give her a walk and if you are fit enough to walk it you could walk about 16 miles and that's just going the one way and you have great views over the hills of Donegall and there is lots of parking for camper vans and small caravans were you can stay for one night or for 2 weeks and there's all points has Electric over the summer it gets very very busy as it such a great beech and your only 10 miles from 2 main towns in Coleraine and Limavady and the beech flys the blue flag every year and there's 3 lifeguards stations down the beech for peace of mine the only down side to it the cars are allowed to drive up and...
