Amazing day. Started with the Black Chasm tour and finished the day with the family friendly Dragon's Tale. My 8 year old loved both. First one was genuinely scary but fun filled and gruesomely informative. If youve ever done something like York/London Dungeons it has a similar vibe. The Dragon tour was led by Elva the most bouncy and friendly Fire Elf I've ever met, and kept my kid enthralled throughout. The actors made the day incredibly fun and memorable, they stayed in character even when we bumped into them later (including a jump scare from Lowri the Lady of the Mountain). And the guys on the front desk were just as friendly and helpful. Some of the areas for kids could do with a little tlc (like the den building area) but to their credit they have also added some fresh areas like the small adventure play and sand digging area. The kids hunt (which is the sort of thing my child often decides is too boring) was made all the more engaging by the staff helping and giving clues as you went round and getting clues from other families who were also looking around with their clipboards, so we actually completed it and earned our sweeties! All in all what could have been an averagely amusing day out was made highly engaging and memorable by the hardwork of the staff.

I really enjoyed this UndergrounD adventure. It starts with a very knowledgeable local guide who takes the small group through the museum. Then to the smaller collection of treasured artefacts. The surface workings are explained. Questions welcome. The evil " crusher " where 88 children died in 1 year . A hideous way to die , hundreds of years ago , was especially poignant. Then UndergrounD tour is about ½ an hour. Not for wheelchair users or the claustrophobic but most can manage it at a leisurely pace. It's all very safe . Sensible shoes or boots please. There's also a great smaller tour for children to see a sleeping dragon. Good cafe and shop. Toilets on site. Panning for gold for a small exta fee. Nature and activities trail for supervised children. Also look out for the Escape room challenge on site. Perfect for team building ,stag / hen parties or a good challenge. The mine is written about in a superb book By Ioan Lord who is a staff member there. " Rich Mountains of lead " Buy it online ,quickly as it's a limited edition. If you like mining history please search for NAMHO and Subterranean Britannica ( Subbrit ) online . There's so much more to see and learn about.

We visited the Silver Mountain Experience in Aberystwyth and were really impressed with what was on offer, especially for the price – £42 for two adults felt very reasonable. There are three different tours to choose from depending on your interests or the age of your group, and we went with “A Miner’s Tale,” which we thoroughly enjoyed. Our tour guide was excellent – knowledgeable, engaging, and we learnt a lot during the hour-long tour. The underground mine was fascinating, and the above-ground areas were clean and full of interesting information boards. We also enjoyed doing the quizzes, which added a fun interactive element – great for adults as well as kids. The staff were all really friendly and welcoming. While we didn’t try the café or the escape room, both were available on site. There was also a fun Easter event with a Willy Wonka/chocolate theme, which looked perfect for families with children. Overall, we’d definitely recommend visiting if you’re in the area – a great day out with a mix of history, fun, and friendly faces.

Unbelievably brilliant attraction in the Mid Wales countryside with captivating informative tours and a variety of interactive activities. There are three tours available at the attraction which are The Miner's Life, The Black Chasm and A Dragon's Tale. A Dragon's Tale is more aimed at the younger audience and is more fantasy based and magical for the younger children. The Black Chasm tour is more scarier and aimed at the older children and adults and there are some ghostly aspects to it. Both the Dragon's Tale and The Black Chasm tours have a dramatic aspect to them and the tours are played out by actors who stay brilliantly in character throughout even when they are not involved in the tours. The Miner's Life Tour is absolutely brilliant and probably the best out of the 3 tours as the tour guide delivers it in a thoroughly interesting and informative way providing very interesting facts but also knows their subject matter extremely well detailing the life of the Miners but also the processes of lead mining along with how workers came into the Valley to work there. The Miner's Life tour also shows some great samples of Galena the rocks from which lead comes from and both The Black Chasm and The Miner's Life Tours you can visit the Mine itself where you can see first hand what life was like for the Miner's down the Mine and how the lead was mined from there and the tools used to do it. The tours are some of the most captivating around and full credit goes to the tour guides for doing an outstanding jobs and making it very interesting. There are also a variety of quizzes to do with The Miner's Trail particularly interactive and fun finding more information about different parts of the site and its importance in the Mining process. Other parts of interest around the site are the Waterwheels which look brilliant and marvel at how they work along with The Gorvel and Wood where children can have a go at Den Building. There is also Gold Panning to do which is another fun and interesting activity panning for gold and other minerals which does extra but you can take home any minerals you do find in a bag. The cafe has a range of food had reasonable prices along with the gift shop, which houses a nice range of souvenirs. The staff are very friendly, helpful and accommodating helping accomodate visitors onto different tours and changing tour times where appropriate for visitors to suit their needs. Overall this attraction is a magical, fun, interactive and interesting day out for everyone and definitely one of the best attractions to visit...

Excellent Experience - Family of 4 / 2 adults 2 kids girls both aged 11. We went today and the Easter egg hunt was on where the children follow clues but there's little eggs everywjere Easily spend 5 hours exploring and going on the tours there's 3 different ones dependent on childs age and exploring the mine and woods. Also an escape room but didn't have time to do it maybe next time. You can take a picnic or use the on site cafe. On arrival at reception you are given a clipboard with a map and quests for the children We decided to go for the Dark Chasm Tour which didn't disappoint lots of screams/shrieks and laughter from the girls! The guide was amazing really in character! The tour takes around an hour but goes by so quickly. We then panned for gold and gems and got quite a few as you can take as long as you like it's all included in ticket price You can also uncover fossils in the sand and discover all kinds of creatures We walked through the woods where you can build dens see little houses built in the trees Theres a drawing and dressing up room for the children Also a cafe for food and drink the slushies went down a treat as it was a hot day at the side are toilets Its dog friendly all around as long as they are kept on leads but if your booking a tour they will need to...
