We enjoyed the experience walking alpacas, they were cute, cheeky snd fun. However customer service could improve. We waited at the gate until one lady came, no HI Welcome, Iâm (name) etc, just Are you ready to walk alpacas? She then told us Dos and Donâts . Then young girl under 18 came out with one elderly lady and started to walk. They walk in front of group, talking to each other, no interaction with the group. After we came to top of the hill, the girl disappeared and we waited for her for 15 minutes, at noon, one of the hottest days of the year, in the sun. No explanation what happened. We just stood there for 15 minutes holding alpacas. It turned out she went to get a water for someone who felt unwell. In my opinion, member of staff should have been called to tend to the unwell person making sure they were ok and given care they might have needed and the group should have carried on. Also on arrival back poor unwell lady was asked to pay for that water which I understand they need to make money but they could at least ask her if sheâs ok before asking for money in front of everyone. And please at least offer customers the basin you have there to wash their hands and ask how was experience.
Wow, you just proved how bad is your customer service. I donât say customer is always right, but they are right to feel about experience the way they feel! Rather than verbally abusing me, you should take step back, read the review again and properly and take constructive criticism and see if anything could be improved, if you think your business is amazing the way you run it then just move on! I left 3 stars but the way you reacted to it is really unprofessional and embarrassing. I never said anything bad about grandma or your over qualified daughter, I said they walked in front of us whole time. And if grandma paid more attention she would realise that my daughter tried to pull alpaca so many times of the fern but she wasnât strong enough so said few times can someone help Piglet is eating fern and guess what, she said sorry so many times that it happened!!! NOBODY asked everyone if they have a water, maybe they asked 1 or 2 people. Also there was nobody in a car stopping next to us to see if the girl was ok! Yes we were told we will stop few times for alpacas to rest and eat and we did stop few times and that was absolutely fine, but I was not talking about breaks, that was not a break that was all waiting for someone for 15 minutes!!! The sink is on the other side of the gate, and on gate says no entry apart from staff! Nobody mentioned that we can ho there and wash our hands and nobody went until we did so clearly others didnât know they could ho there and wash their hands. And your daughter should not be disappointed reading my review, I havenât said anything negative about her, she did what you asked her to, she hasnât done anything bad. If anything, I said someone else should have been called to poorly lady and not it being left to your daughter to deal with!!! So donât try to turn it round and make it about something else! Iâm not being unkind and entitled, how horrible of you to say something like that. You should be ashamed, personally attacking someone you donât know. I work hard for the...
Read moreAbsolutely brilliant time at Poppywood Alpacas. We booked in advance and read the useful information given before turning up. Two adults, a six year old and a very timid three year old!
We met the gentleman alpacas up close and personal and whilst amongst them , in their barn, we received a very information talk all about them. There was a chance to ask questions and then we had a chance to feed them đ. We were then honoured to be able to take one each (if you wanted to and meet criteria) for a small walk having a safety brief beforehand.
When we came back we had an opportunity to meet the ladies and the babies! Another chance to learn and also ask questions and again the opportunity to feed them.
We also saw the fleeces and learnt about how they are checked and processed too.
A super friendly family so wiling to share their knowledge and alpacas with you đ. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them.
The alpacas were well looked after (you could tell they knew their human family). The setting is great too.
When we had to leave the furry ones we had a lovely brew in the tea room where cakes and gifts were available to purchase.
A great few hours and very reasonably priced. Iâm definitely going to be...
Read moreA massive THANK YOU to Pippa, Mark, Connie, & Isabelle!! & of course the lovely Alpacas đŚ yesterday you hosted my daughterâs 10th Birthday Party ( 30 + people ) from start to finish you kept us all engaged with lots of facts & information all whilst stood amongst the Alpacas par-taking in a meet n greet. Everyone got a turn to lead their own Alpacha around a field in the open countryside then back indoors to meet the mother & babies, next we had a talk in the âYarn Barnâ with the opportunity for everyone to feel the wool whilst learning lots of facts about it, then off to do a choice of crafting ( pom-poms, pottery painting & sewing, all alpaca themed ) then some healthy party food. Mark your spread was very colourful & tasty! Whilst the children finished their crafting, parents had the chance to order some food & drink as well as take the opportunity to purchase items made of Alpaca wool or Alpaca themed items! I bought a lovely warm snood! finally wool that doesnât itch you like mad! đ the crafting/party/cafe area is beautifully decorated and is large enough to cater for large parties/events. We will most definitely be returning, thanks once again â¤ď¸ the...
