We visited last weekend, on the first open day of the year. As the weather was fine it was relatively busy, but there were enough trains running that the wait wasn't longer than about 10-15 minutes.

My 2 year old loved it - he was a little anxious at first, but once we got underway he was thrilled, and the trip was just about the right length.

I thought the price was very reasonable - tickets aren't dated, so you can buy them in pairs and use unused ones on another day, though each trip is short enough that doing routes in one trip is probably the way to go.

I should add that there were some issues on our second trip that extended it out to about 45 minutes. We weren't in a rush and if anything it was fun to see the guys scurrying to deal with mechanical challenges.

Overall a gem of a local attraction that we'll certainly come back to, if my toddler has anything to...

A great Sunday afternoon out. Have always tried to get here at least once a year as it’s not that far away and ride both routes and then, if possible ride The Gladesman which is a nice lengthy 25 or so minute journey at the end of the day. The September galas were always a great afternoon too with visiting loco’s and coaches from other societies around the country. Unfortunately (and due to the various lockdowns and other Covid restrictions) over the last couple of years, I’ve not managed to get here. Roll on the 2022 season where I hope everything will be back to normal. With its very frequent timetable and 2 spectacular routes with journeys of around 15 minutes, you can’t go wrong. The cafe offers a limited choice of food and beverages and the prices were not too bad in the...

We visited the Great Cockcrow Railway with our daughter just before they closed for winter, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! This miniature steam train railway is a true gem, offering charm and excitement for visitors of all ages.

Our daughter absolutely loved it—from the moment the first train whistle blew to the thrill of riding through scenic routes on the beautifully crafted miniature steam trains.

We were pleased to find that parking was ample and convenient, which made the trip stress-free right from the start. The Great Cockcrow Railway is a fantastic way to create memorable experience...

Took my kids here on Wednesday afternoon (it's open Weds *only* during August). There were between 6-8 steam locomotives running plus a diesel electric and the queues for the red and green routes were no more than 10mins. We haven't visited since the new station building was opened. Great facilities with ticket office, toilets and a café. The main attraction are the rides which are quite extensive criss crossing around woodlands. You barely notice the M25 just nearby. Tunnels and bridges and other trains make the journey enjoyable. A great afternoon for all the family.
