On a decent day minster leas offers a very pleasant day out whether you have children or not. The plus points being relatively clean sea, a decent beach, a very good grass area with seats, a very pleasant walk along the sea wall, plenty of free parking, a very good restaurant with sea views along with a decent cafe in the car park at the far end and on the sea wall a small ice cream parlour /cafe, easy access to minster cliffs from the car park at the far end if you fancy a walk and good sea views across to Essex and Southend and Canvey Island. There are public toilets near the white house in the Broadway road just before you enter the leas. For me the minus points are its on the north Kent coast so often has a chilly sea breeze and the beach is pebbles. I think most people prefer sand and if your children like rides l don't think there are any. Read moreOne of my favourite places..spotlessly clean, beautiful scenery, very friendly locals..they also now have fancy new public toilets. Very posh..and you can walk for miles. There are the remains of the boats that were used to stop the German uboats coming up the Thames. They were all tethered together accross the whole estuary with nets hanging down into the water with bombs attached..so anything trying to get to london was destroyed before it had the chance to do any damage..amazing the little bits of info and history you can pick up whilst walking down the beach. I will post some pictures of the Leas Fairy doors which are made in the image of the beautiful beach huts..there is still some exercise equipment scattered along the walkway which ate always being used..fab idea..if you are lucky as well you might find some...
Read moreWe are lucky to have the Leas local to us. We do not make use of it as often as we should however it is a really easy place to walk reasonably flat with plenty of seats. Depending on age and agility it takes about 35 to 45 minutes to walk the leas and return. We find it is surprising how many people aknowledge you as you walk. We see the dogs on thier walks, children running or playing on the pebble beach. all along the leas are exercise apperatuse for you to use. There are 2 places for drinks or ice creams or for the hungry walkers the leas has 2 public houses that offer food. The water is where the Thames and the Medway rivers meet as they flow into the channel and are always busy with shipping movements. what is...
