The Faversham Stone Chapel, also known as Our Lady of Elwarton, close to the Roman Watling Street (now the A2), is the only chapel in England to incorporate a pagan mausoleum. You can still see the rows of thin red bricks laid by the Romano-British in the 4th Century. It is probably the only remains of the small Roman town of Durolevum and its Roman cemetery at Ospringe.
