Staff are friendly and the cafe is nice but the Conditions of the habitats leave much to be desired.. NONE of the animals look happy. The goats hooves (that I saw) are overgrown, , one of the pony's (called Gypsy if I remember rightly) back end isn't groomed and is very matted, the chicks don't have a heat lamp and acted very stressed, the bark for the chickens was wet which gives them foot rot, they hay given to the ponies in the large barn was wet (although this may be for bad teeth). The horse stables had also evidently not been cleaned out in a while, same situation with the sheep, rabbits and guinea pigs. I also noticed at the owl enclosures were neglected as one was filthy and there was an extremely large pile of uncleaned excriments and one of the owl enclosures was very barren and filled with practically only 2 small dead fir trees. The place was generally quite filthy and neglected. This is unfortunate as Farmer Parrs has always been a place I've loved, it's awful to see it be like this. My family and I can't Continue to support a place that doesn't seem to care about their animals. Very...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing!!! Farm was a good size with lots of animals to see and they where all so friendly, tractor ride is good fun for everyone and lots of indoor and outdoor play areas for the children. All the staff where lovely but a special shout out to the two gentlemen in the museum part one who built his own penny farthing that was on show and the other who has worked in many mueseums this being his favourite, they where absolute gems, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and not only teach us about things we never knew but had amazing conversations about everything there if I could have I'd have taken them home with me their stories and information went above and beyond what you would get anywhere else. It gave us so much more of a better experience as they had lived and worked with some of the things teaching us how everything worked and some of it still did. They made this experience the best it was such a heartwarming...
Read moreI grew up visiting farmer Parrs and it was one of my favourite memories from childhood , however after visiting recently I was slightly disappointed. It doesn’t have the same vibe or feel to when I was a kid, there doesn’t seem to be as many farm animals. A few pigs and mainly goats and sheep, there were a couple of volunteers who were friendly and offering people to hold the chicks which I thought was nice. Did like seeing the tortoises! I just think that years ago when the older man (who played Santa) and I believe his son were more present it was a lot better and I felt it was very overpriced nearly £30 for two adults and a child. Unfortunately I wouldn’t visit again. I also feel disappointed that the pottery place doesn’t exist inside the museum anymore- a big loss for them I believe. I don’t think it’s a day out maybe an hour at best but they do serve alcohol so I can see why some families would stay all...
