We got married at Wyresdale Park this summer. What a venue! It was an easy venue to say "yes" to as it ticked all of our boxes, and it exceeded all of our expectations.
The venue itself is stunning. The barns had the rustic charm that we were looking for, and they are surrounded by countryside and areas of outstanding natural beauty, with tonnes of places to take beautiful photos. The lake was one of the things that originally drew us to Wyresdale, and I'm so glad that the weather held off long enough so that we could get some photos in the row boat on the lake.
There is loads of accomodation available on-site which was another essential criteria that we had when looking at wedding venues as we had guests travelling from afar. The accomodation varies in price so it was ideal for guests with varying budgets. As our wedding was on a Sunday and they don't have weddings on a Monday, the North Wing (bridal area) and the Lodge (grooms area) were available to book the night before and night of the wedding if needed which was a bonus.
It was really important to me that our wedding venue is somewhere that we can visit in the future for anniversaries etc, and I love that Wyresdale has so much to do on-site - including the Applestore Cafe, spa, paddleboarding clubs and lovely walks. It also has a few little shops which is really unique for a wedding venue to have - including a shop were you can make jewellrey (such as your wedding rings) and it has a florist on site too which is ideal for your wedding flowers. We will definitely be coming back in the future! (I think they used to host Christmas markets and I really hope they do these again in the future!)
Wyresdale is unique as it has 3 separate Barns for the ceremony, wedding breakfast and the party in the evening. This meant that all 3 areas could be decorated in advance and there were no lull periods whilst guests had to wait for the room to be setup.
Wyresdale have the striped kitchen caterers on-site who can provide a private meal for guests the night before the wedding, and breakfast for guests the morning after the wedding in a 4th barn area. This was amazing as it really extended our wedding celebrations into a 3 day affair!
Overall, I would thoroughly recommend Wyresdale Park and cannot thank them enough for bringing our dream...
Read moreOur autumn wedding at Wyresdale Park was an absolute dream come true! We couldn't have asked for a more stunning and unique venue to celebrate our special day.
From the moment we arrived at the picturesque location, we knew we had made the right choice. The changing colors of the leaves provided a breathtaking backdrop that left us and our guests in awe. We were blown away by the beauty of the barn - the exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and warm lighting made it the perfect setting for our reception.
One of the many things that made our autumn wedding at Wyresdale Park so special was the incredible accommodation. The bridal suite was absolutely perfect, providing a luxurious and comfortable space for us to get ready for our big day. It was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed to feel pampered and relaxed.
But it wasn't just the bridal suite that impressed us - the yurts for our guests were also amazing! They provided a really fun and unique experience for our guests, who loved the chance to stay in such a beautiful setting. The yurts themselves were spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed, with everything our guests needed to enjoy their stay. The common area was especially great, as it allowed everyone to gather and make new friends, creating a real sense of community and togetherness.
But what really made our day truly unforgettable was the exceptional service provided by the staff at Wyresdale Park. They went above and beyond to make sure every detail was taken care of and that we had the wedding of our dreams. Their attention to detail and dedication to making everything perfect for us was outstanding and made us feel like royalty.
We can't recommend Wyresdale Park enough as a wedding venue. It's the perfect choice for couples who want a unique and memorable experience that they and their guests will never forget. We're so grateful that we chose this amazing barn for our special day, and we're sure that other couples will feel the same way too. If you're looking for a wedding venue that truly stands out, look no further than Wyresdale Park - you won't be...
Read moreThis was to celebrate a wedding. Not suitable for wheelchairs as, whilst there are slopes they are covered with stones making it difficult for people with wheelchairs /mobility difficulties.
But the main problem was the accommodation. The rooms had no windows, no ventilation and no natural daylight. It was advertised as a room for those with disability, but a wheelchair would not be able to transfer to the bed nor could anyone manage who needed space to change. Sloping ceilings meant anyone using the shower over 4ft tall banged their heads. No water provided. An area outside provided tea and coffee, but very little milk for 8/10 people. No breakfast included, and at £162 per night this was very Expensive.
Breakfast provided in cow byres which had a mini step on each side. For £13.50 or so expected it to be served but no, just in big metal containers.
Cheaper, better, adapted for disabilty alternatives a couple of miles away, with a window and breakfast.
Vegetarian option at wedding Ha ha. Take sandwiches. A venue for the young not disabled I'm afraid.
On top of this an extremely rude "person in charge" told us to shift our car even though we were picking up two disabled people across impossible to...
