Love it, great park for the kids, the dogs and yourself. It's well taken care of with plants that are constantly maintained nicely, a little stream that the dog tends to play in, a little playground for kids to zipwire across and play on the swings. The dog loves to roll in the long grass and the golf course end of the park, it's kept long for the wildlife and biodiversity. There is also the old haverhill railway line that backs onto the park, you can turn right to head into town or left for Sturmer and beyond, it's also a cyclepath so watch out. In the summer it's a very pleasant place for a walk. Just adjacent to the park is a pitch, it has outdoor gym gear, a football pitch, basketball pitches and another playground. The lavender when it comes out is gorgeous, you have the bees buzzing around and the smell is just devine, have to keep you dog on the lead though especially if your dog loves to eat lavender.. my dog unfortunately has this habit so I have to make sure the dog doesn't go near it! There is a zigzag area with flowerbeds, as you walk parallel to the old railway line, it makes leaving the park towards the town end, a little bit more long winded unless you don't mind walking...

Visited on St George's Day where a medieval renactment by 'The Companye of Merrie Folke' was taking place. Entrance to see their programme was a modest £4.00. Anyone wishing to use the park as usual and its facities were free to do so. There was music, a puppet show, dancing story telling and singing. Those taking part were able to tell their own historical story besides all their collection of artefacts. All in all a good day out. If you want to know more about this company look them up of Facebook under their old...
Read moreToday was our first visit for many years (probably since the lockdown).
We were not disappointed. The visitors centre and shop were open (half term holiday) so we were able to get Ice creams, slushies and coffee (other options of food and drink available).
The car park was starting to fill up by the time we arrived (11am), but we did get a space. There is bicycle parking by the play park.
We spent a couple of hours here wandering the park, playing pooh sticks, watching birds and bugs and playing in the fantastic play park (dog exclusion zone).
We took the dog and met lots of friendly, chatty dog owners. Plenty of bins dotted around the park for litter and dog poo- no excuse not to pick up as poo bags are available for free at the visitors centre.
Lots of picnic tables available. There are signs saying no BBQ's or alcoholic drinks.
The notice board had lots of information about upcoming events.
We had a really...
