Great local place for a walk with the dogs with a couple of reservations. For some reason everyone thinks walking their dog off the lead and not picking up the poo to be acceptable! Just because your dog is apparently great off the lead doesn’t mean that every dog it meets on a lead is going to be pleased to see them! Your dog running at another dog who needs to be on a lead just causes problems, it’s quite simple really just pop them on the lead while you pass. Read moreOur first visit to Brayton Barff after passing it by lots of times on our way to Selby. There are well built pathways here as well as easy to follow trails. We took our three children with us who all had a great time running around the woodland and the hilltop. The place appears to be part of the Yorkshire Water network, with a small access road up to the top of the hill where there is a fenced off reservoir. There were some dead trees which may be at risk of falling and a couple which had fallen, however the walk was really enjoyable. It was very clean everywhere. We didn't find any actual picnic tables but there were a few little benches. The area is a really nice length of walk even for little legs and there was a little gazebo about the wildlife with a wonderful man who was really helpful. I can't...
