Harts Coffee House and Deli Thorpe Willoughby — Restaurant in England

Amazing cakes!!!! So this review is a little delayed apologies. I was planning a surprise party for my husbands 60th (Sept) but had guests with various allergies and had been turned away by multiple bakers who could not guarantee the cake would be allergen free. Deflated and chatting to a friend she told me about Harts Deli in Thorpe and said to try them. I spoke to them via messenger and they immediately were happy to help. I requested 2 large celebration cakes- a Victoria sponge and a chocolate caramel cake as those did not need to be refrigerated for ease on the party day. They were described as serving 12 slices (well these were huge and fed approx 60 people) I collected on party day with ease, they were well packaged for the drive and I was even helped to the car. I opened the cakes at the party and wow… absolutely stunning. By far exceeded expectations, they were so pretty and the taste- omg the best cakes we’ve had. They were fluffy and light and so delicious. All the guests were completely shocked that these cakes came from this little hidden deli and my friends have since ordered cakes! Hugely wowed as the cakes were amazing but the great communication and willingness to help me made them a great supplier and to say I highly recommend them doesn’t seem enough. "I visited this cafe for the first time today with a friend for lunch. As someone who frequently visits cafes, I found the manager's behavior to be quite unusual. We asked our server, a young girl, if we could purchase a sandwich and chips to share, as we weren't very hungry. We also ordered separate hot drinks. However, the server seemed hesitant and said, 'I don't think the owner will like this.' She then left and returned with the message that sharing food was not allowed.

"I politely expressed my surprise, stating that I had never encountered such a policy before. The server simply repeated that sharing was not permitted. I found this approach to be overly controlling and focused solely on making a profit. If my friend hadn't been with me, I would have left immediately. In my opinion, customers should always have the freedom to choose how they want to enjoy their food. Unfortunately, the food wasn't impressive either. I would not recommend this...

There were no vegan options on the menu but the staff are great at saying what they can provide. The food was really nice. Only knock a star off because it would be good to have some vegan options on the actual menu. Unfortunately there’s no baby changing facilities either, but then I don’t know where they would fit a table.
