Rinsey Cove is a beautiful area to explore. Probably one of the lesser known beaches in Cornwall but well worth a visit if you like the quieter places. There are no facilities there at all. I parked at the National Trust car park just above the cove. Probably only room for about 20 cars but I have always managed to get in, even in the peak holiday months. It is only a 10 minute walk to the beach but is quite steep in places but well worth the effort. When the tide is out the beach is lovely, backed up by high steep cliffs. You can always find a quiet spot on the beach even at "busy" times. There are also very nice walks from the cove. East towards Porthleven or West towards Praa Sands, which only takes 20-30 minutes ( fairly easy walk ). The beach at Praa Sands is beautiful & you can get on it from the coastal path from Rinsey Cove & it is much quieter at this end of the beach. I would highly recommend a visit...

We visited out of the traditional ‘Cornwall Crazy Season’ and I’m glad we did as the lane leading to the cove is very narrow with limited passing places. The car park is also small. I should image in peak season, it’s a nightmare. Mid Sept however, it was perfect with only a few other people (and dogs....dog friendly all year) to share the beach, bays and rock pools with.
Lovely sandy beach for the sun worshippers, cool rock pools and caves to explore for the more adventurous.
The path to and from the beach is steep, rough and narrow. Suggest you do not attempt it in flip flops! If you are not mobile and comfortable with a scrabble, do not attempt it at all.
There’s also a way marked cliff top walk, passing a dramatic mine ruin perched on top...
Read moreAmazing beautiful coved beach! Clear water and lots of rock pools for the kids to explore. It was a hot and sunny day when me and my family went and the water was nice and cool. Rinsey Cove is definitely worth a visit only negatives are very small car park run by National Trust but it is free which is rare from National Trust! Also the hike down to the beach is very tricky especially at the bottom where you are physically required to climb down sandy rocks for the last 12 feet!! Not ideal for small children or the elderly, but if you can make it down it’s definitely worth...
