Who trekked all the way to Brentwood 🙋🏼‍♀️ we checked out Gym Rox its a gymnastics based free-play session for under 5's because @thecalm asked me too. The selection of equipment available is amazing and you will find everything a toddler could possibly want to play with bouncy castle, ride alongs, trampolines, swings ,gymnastics equipment. Sessions run Monday to Friday, and you can just turn up (except on Fridays, when booking is required). On Mon-Thurs, you can stay as long as you like, while Friday sessions are 1 hour 30 minutes. During school holidays, they also host family fun sessions for older siblings up to age 10. There’s plenty of seating around the hall, plus a few tables at one end. The on-site café offers food and drinks at really reasonable prices. Getting there? It’s pretty straightforward: We took the Elizabeth Line (40 minutes) to Brentwood, From there, we got the 37 bus, which takes about 15 minutes and drops you close by. Just a heads-up: when you exit the station, you’ll need the bus stop on the opposite side of the road from the station. We had a hiccup asking drivers for directions (and ended up waiting for the wrong bus twice), so make sure you grab the right one. 📍 The Brentwood Centre Doddinghurst Rd, Pilgrims Hatch, Brentwood, CM15 9NN 💴 £7.50 one child, £12 two ,£16 three 🚗 Free parking . . #GymRox #BrentwoodMums #DaysOutWithKids #ToddlerFun #Under5Activities #FamilyAdventures #KidsGymnastics #PlaytimeFun #ToddlerPlay #FamilyDaysOut #ParentingJourney #ActiveKids #BrentwoodLife #ToddlerAdventures #MumLife #KidsActivities #ElizabethLine #ThingsToDoWithKids #GymnasticsForToddlers #freeplay

Nice to see the snooker, nice staff, decent refreshments. However, the toilets are shocking. They were extremely small, cramped, dirty and not well maintained (lock was wobbling off the door of the single cubicle). Totally unacceptable facilities that are in not way facilitating enough for big events like snooker to be hosted here. It's about time Essex snooker got its own venue

Swimming coaches and reception staff are lovely, but cleaners are constantly slacking. Changing village floor and walls are in the horrendous state. Images talen throughout February amd March. Very pooy managed to my disappointment. Such a great potential 🥲

Oh boy! The swimming pools here are CONSTANTLY under filled with water. It’s been going on for the last 6-12 months now. Someone who is responsible for the pool maintenance has been employed in that time who hasn’t a clue, obviously. The water is supposed to lie halfway across the gully inlets, this pool more often than not has a water level 3 or 4 inches BELOW the gully. So you are constantly in a state of unwittingly gulping in great waves of horrid pool water, being rolled into the lane ropes (which stick up way out of the water either end of the pool because, well - the water level is too low!!) and getting your arms stuck under them, getting smacked in the face as you near the end of the pool and get the water from the wall smashing back into you… being thrown about all over the place meaning your swim technique stroke is for the birds… and they profess to teach kids how to swim at this place… the kids must all come out with rubbish stroke technique simply because they are having to struggle to not drown. And nope I am not a floral hatted 80 year old who loves the double wide lanes during a fitness swim (another joke idea, surely????) ..wow what a nasty experience just because the staff don’t know how to maintain the correct water level! When asked by numerous swimmers regarding this the response is - “I’ve read the manual and it’s supposed to be like this”. Utter drivel, every swimmer has to suffer because of one persons misinterpretation...

I just signed up and visited for the first time yesterday. I bought my family swimming.

The receptionist was polite and helpful, and parking was convenient.

It all went downhill from there.

The swimming room changing room floors were filthy; mothers were driving prams across the room!

The lockers are a bit of a joke. You can't open and close them of your free will (in case you need to take something out). Instead, you use tokens, which are consumed the moment you open the locker.

You have to pay for these tokens, which is a bit of an insult as they have already charged you to use the swimming pool facilities. Where do they expect you to keep your clothes...

There was a room full of security guards opposite the swimming pool, and one swears a lot, which is quite appalling as there are families and children (including my 2-year-old) outside the room in the communal space!

Please ensure the floors are cleaned properly and have a cleaner inside the swimming room changing facilities. That should help the place be cleaner and provide a visual reference for people who lack hygiene.

Also, get your security firm to hire better or train security guards to refrain from venting about their lives near customers (especially with expletives).

Two stars are given, one for the polite staff and car parking. One for the cleanliness of the...

I’ve been attending this gym for over a year using my valid work access through Gympass, paying monthly like any other member. Despite this, I was abruptly removed by the membership team leader, Keira, who was rude, condescending, and completely unprofessional.

She insisted I needed to complete an “introduction” — something that had never been mentioned in the entire year I’ve been attending. I was spoken to as though I didn’t belong, as though I wasn’t a paying member, and was made to feel completely ostracised.

To make matters worse, the duty manager, Max, stood by silently throughout the whole situation — despite being able to see that I had already logged in. Rather than step in or clarify the situation, he allowed the interrogation to continue, showing a complete lack of leadership and accountability.

This experience was deeply disappointing and frankly humiliating. I expected better from a facility that promotes health, wellbeing, and inclusion. Management seriously needs to review the way staff treat paying members and urgently address the lack of professionalism displayed by both...
