Weald Country Park is an impressive & picturesque country park with over 550 acres of diverse landscapes - Wildflower Meadows, Open Grasslands, Grazing Land, Forests, Woodlands, Hills, Mounds, Lakes and Ponds! The Weald Country Park dates back to 12th Century as a medieval deer park! It is well-known to many because of the famous and beloved character Stickman Play Trail. It has many hidden treasures too - Fallow Deer 🦌 Enclosure, Wild Deers 🦌 , Wildlife, Heritage Site of Iron Age Hill Fort dating back to 50AD, Belvedere Mound & Folly dating back to 18th Century!

The Weald has many hills boasting spectacular panaromic views across the horizon where green meets blue with scattered white clouds! Belvedere Field has a gradient slope towards the picturesque lakes - a perfect green carpet for enjoying a picnic, and busking in the sun ☀!

The Chestnut Avenue in the midst of The Forest created through plantations is an outstanding impressive area for gentle stroll walking through the woods discovering wildlife, ancient woods. There are plenty of trees playing hide and seek with the sun. It is a place for all the family to explore the forest and play with branches, logs, leaves under the canopies of trees!

Visitor Centre has a gift shop and a café serving hot drinks, snacks, and hot foods! You can purchase food pack for deers to feed them in the deer enclosure! All terrain mobility scooter can be hired for free from the Visitor Centre - booking in advance is essential!

There is a fenced area allocated for cattle grazing as a means of natural conservation! Visitors are allowed to walk through the grazing area! The Weald still the home for wild deers! If you're lucky you can see the wild deers in the Forest, Woodlands and Mounds!

The Weald has very well interconnected walking and cycling trails throughout the park! Some parts of trails are very challenging due to the elevation and slopes! Trails are very made of compacted with pebbles and earth making it easier for walking and cycling! Some parts of the trails are prone to be muddy and soft during bad weather! The park is very well-equipped with information board across the park making it easy for everyone to learn about The Weald and navigate around the park!

One key important information is not stated in the information boards and in the website - elevation of the trail! It could be very difficult for people with pushchairs, wheelchairs, mobility restrictions to climb up/down these elevated trails! Stickman Play Trail has many elevated trails including mounds and hills, but very sadly, nowhere it warns people about steep elevation of the trail! It would be really helpful and very sensible for all visitors to have the elevation of trail is clearly identified enabling visitors to make informed decision of how to navigate around according to their abilities!

There are 4 car 🚙 🅿 parks at Weald - Visitor Centre Car Park, Belvedere Car Park & Cricket Ground Car Park off Weald Road and Lincolns Lane Car Park! Car Parking Tariff applies to all car including Blue Badge Holders! All Car Parks have toilets including accessible disabled ♿ 🚽 Toilets and Baby Changing Areas - this is absolutely amazing! It surely increases the accessibility for all ages and abilities visiting the...

Weald Country Park is a lovely spot for a family day out, but it falls just short of its potential. The park is expansive, with beautiful woodlands, lakes, and open spaces, making it ideal for a stroll or a picnic. However, the Stick Man trail, which we were particularly excited about, was a bit of a letdown. The walk felt underwhelming, with many of the displays looking worn and in need of some attention. It didn’t quite live up to the magic we were hoping for, especially considering how much our children love the Stick Man story.

The playgrounds, while decent, are also showing signs of age. They could definitely benefit from a freshen-up to make them more appealing and safe for children. It’s a shame because with a little more care and investment, these areas could be a real highlight.

On the bright side, the ice cream from the van in the main car park was absolutely fantastic. It was the perfect treat to end the day, with generous portions and a great range of flavours. In fact, it was the high point of our visit.

Overall, Weald Country Park is a pleasant enough place to visit, but it could be so much better with a few improvements. A three out of five from us—nice, but with room for...

Weve visited a good few times. The deer are always a pleasure to feed and my children love seeing them. The stick man sculptures are wonderful and make walking round the lake far more entertaining for the kids (and adults!). The play areas are clean and well maintained. Lots to choose from. Cafe was nice, love the books left around to read to the children. Some of the staff were a bit miserable! Not very friendly. Tables were sticky, needed a good wipe over. The things for sale in the shop were very reasonable on price, I thought. I bought a football for £2.50 and it's a good quality ball. Prices of food are standard for country parks these days. Love the book bag borrowing idea, so you can take a bag of books and can relax and read, then return free of charge! Great idea to encourage reading 📚 👍 Dogs welcome in the cafe, which is handy. Bowl of water outside provided for doggies, so it's very dog friendly. All in all, a...
