Read moreI found a very young deer that had been in a traffic accident sitting in the middle of the road.It was around 630pm on a Friday night when I arrived at Hillside after calling them 30 minutes before. As I arrived a vet turned up with pain killing injections and immediately the vet and the staff began giving it veterinary aid. They were such nice and helpful people and all 4 of them were working at this time on a Friday night.I could not recommend them highly enough because virtually all other animal sanctuary do not answer their phone after 6pm let along answer it and then arrange critical care to injured animals- so if you can please donate as I can personally vouch for how effective they are at utilising any donations...
Read moreWe were looking for somewhere to take my grandson for a couple of hours. We checked 'Google' & the Web page first. When you arrive at the sanctuary sign posts are not clear. It also did not state that it was closed & only opens on certain 'open days'. After walking up a long dirt track road & seeing a lot of horses with 'quarantine' signs up, we came across some more without signs & a few pigs. We were then chased off & spoken to extremely rudely by a man whose first language was not English. He said that we were a danger & the children were Health & Safety risks. Needless to sat we won't be returning on an Open Day either now. Nowhere did it state that the sanctuary was closed. People were also walking dogs everywhere...
