OK, I'll give it a go. It's a shade around 1,000 feet. An easy stroll up on a light night via the well kept road on the way up to the farm and the Peel Monument at the top. The best place to park is on Lumb Carr Road on the approach to the Shoulder of Mutton pub. The path through the posh stone houses to the path to the top is clearly marked.
The area is popular with mountain bikers, so look out for them descending at speed. If you are into cycling, it's a tough climb, bettered only by the nearby Rake.
