Quiet places for walking dogs. Unfortunately, the money spent on the bike trail, which is great. Left nothing for the rest of the park. The top of the gardens is overgrown, we have taken secateurs to clear the overhanging brambles on several occasions. The grass hill to the monument at the top, has disappeared in undergrowth. The Philips family must be spinning in their graves. Having said that the playground is well looked after and the formal gardens. Pity about the arboretum, I remember it being open with plants and statues in it. That was in the 50s and 60s. teenagers were better behaved then. After my moan, I still go there every day with my dogs, and...

A beautiful place to cycle or walk, easily accessible from Prestwich Village; through Drinkwater Park Agecroft where there's a small car park; from Swinton via Livia Silverdale from Bolton Road, and Broughton following the Irwell River from the Weir.

The parks all link together via bridges over the river and park boundaries.

The Barn in Phillips Park hosts a cycle maintenance hub and a volunteer group.

Lots of lovely spots to chill out and relax in or go for miles discovering new nooks and crannies by bike or foot.

There's also a great professional mountain bike trail (which I helped to build!) in the park with sweeping banked curves and high...

Went to Philips park on my bike for the first time last weekend, well I must say, I'm glad I did... I just wish I'd of found it sooner.

So I was riding around the park on my gravel bike, and came across a man on a MTB that informed me that I was going the wrong way on the trail I didn't even know I was on, I asked the gentleman where to go and promptly ended up blasting off the right way down a massive hill and into a load of jumps and chicanes... When I reached the bottom I had to make sure I hadn't filled my padded shorts with fudge, but nevertheless what a thrill, will be back again for more shorts...

Great place to walk round. Joins two other parks over two council boroughs ( Drinkwater park). This means you can walk from Prestwich to agecroft in Salford with out going near the road. You can follow the rover path or the old bury canal At Philips park, there are some great mountain bike trails but by the sandpit crew to keep you active. Jumps, burns and bumps. Manchester Trail Blazers MTB club is based at Philips Park. They meet on a Saturday morning 10-1130am. Great for kids development in mountain biking. Good place to walk the dogs too. Just becareful of not walking on bike trails or the river in full flows.

This is a lovely park for a woodland walk. I went in via footpath off the Shell garage forecourt by the big Prestwich Tesco. After walking down a steep slope you end up on a pleasant woodland path that runs alongside Bradley Brook. This joins up with Drinkwater and St Mary's parks to make a longer walk, and also Irwell Sculpture trail. There are wildlife pools, a grade 2 listed viaduct and the sites of the old hall and gardens. The route I took wasn't suitable for wheelchairs, buggies or ordinary bikes, but there are other entrances that may be. I didn't pass toilets or a café and there aren't any marked on the map.
