This place is lovely, for a family of 2 Adults, 2 Teens and a toddler of 2 years of age it cost us £42 entrance fee. This also included 2 bags of animal feed which can be purchased separately for 50 pence per bag. Adults cost £8.50 and children under the age of 16 years are classed as children and pay £8.00 entrance fee each.
The first thing we did was go to the animal feeding area which is a large unit full of various animals including sheep, goats, lamas, rabbits and pigs to name but a few.
Our toddler loved feeding the animals which were all tame and quite freindly. There are warning signs for some to ensure that you don't out your fingers inside of their cages but not many.
The animals all looked very well cared for and I can honestly say that paying a little more on the door only helps maintain and care for the facilities and the animals wellbeing for anyone who may think this is a little pricey.
Playdale Valley has a toilet block, an area for smokers and a hay barn where you can literraly jump all over bails of hay which is quite fun and I haven't seen this anywhere else we have visited yet.
On top of this Playdale valley also has an outdoor play area which is safe. My toddler at 2 could play on most of the outdoor equipment without too much help. There is also seating for the adults who don't play on the play equipment with theirs kids due to them being older.
Playdale also has a very large indoor play area which includes a large indoor soft play area for 4 to 12 year olds. There is a smaller separate area for under 4's which is great if you want your kids to play on age appropriate equipment, albeit if your toddler is anything like ours they will want to play on everything.
There is a lovely large tractor area which toddlers can play on with small playhouses in the same place for them to use also.
There is also a small animal viewing area including birds, hens, rabbits and guinea pigs and various birds.
Whilst we were in the larger animal are a hen had just hatched and we were really happy we got to experience seeing the bird do this.
We didn't use the restaurant and gift shop but this also looked clean and a nice place to eat with friendly staff.
Great experience...
Read moreWhat can I say about this place...looks can be deceiving is probably the best way to start. I didn't expect much to be honest.
It's bigger than I expected..there's an indoor animal area that you walk round and feed animals..the kids loved this and loved that the animals ate right out their hands. The loved the milking cow too and they were over the moon that they managed to do it (8,3&2) The park they loved and thought it couldn't get any better. We took a walk round the other way and found some go karts..this was a blast for all of us. And then walked a bit further to find a sledge on wheels and a hill to go down my 8 and 3 year old loved it (make sure there's an adult at the bottom to catch them just incase they go a bit too fast down like my 8 year old did (no injuries caused just a bruised ego)) we then took them to the straw barn and I swear they could have stayed in there for ages they loved jumping on the straw bales and playing hide and seek with each other (we went in when it was people free) we then took them into the play barn about an hour before close time when it was again people free and my 3 kids had the rule of the roost. They loved the soft play and the ride on tractors. Fun was had by all. The kids loved the day out and loved that we left the bigger bits untill the end as they had the places to themselves.
The cafe was bigger than expected and prices were as expected. The gift shop was a decent size and kids wanted everything they could get their hands on. Toilets outside were decent for toilets outside and very well kept compared to some places we have been. All areas of playdale farm were clean and tidy. And plenty sanitizer as you go round. Kept the kids entertained for hours. Thank you to all staff for a lovely, clean, covid friendly visit. We would...
Read moreAmazing place to go no matter what your age. Found this little farm on a website of '20 things to do in filey' and thought id pay a visit, safe to say i was not disappointed. Price was reasonable upon entry and the lady on the reception was very kind and informative. Due to the covid pandemic you had to wear a mask when inside the farm itself, but when roaming around all the things they had to offer outdoors you were able to remove this. 50p for a bag of animal feed (id recommend at least two bags as there are lots of opportunities to feed various animals) and we were able to feed sheep, goats, pigs and llamas which was a lovely experience, however there were no signs to say that the llamas spat at you and just my luck a llama spat at me not once but twice, we laughed this off and headed outside. Round the corner from where the animals were there was an outdoor pedal go kart track, although this was only small it was very fun and kept us busy for a while. They also have a frisbee golf course ( all of which were included in the entry fee) which again was a pleasurable experience. There is lots to do and a great few hours out for any one of any age, will visit here again in the future when...
