The Pumping Station Cropston — Attraction in Charnwood

Sadly not a great Sunday lunch out with friends.

The good bits are the venue is lovely as too are the young waiting staff and most of the food.

Unfortunately that's all the good parts. Two of the meal were "overnight cooked beef", which came out rare and we could not get a knife through them or chew.

Mentioned this straight away to a waitress who,s only response was to tell us she would let the kitchen know. Eventually we had to ask for a discount as the beef was inedible, which was Eventually given.

In fairness the other meals, starters and desserts were very nice.

The waiting staff were nice but all very young/ inexperienced and there seemed to be no one in charge.

In addition to the issue with the beef the service was poor....they tried to serve main course while we were eating starters, one of the main courses was completely missed off so 3 of us finished eating before it finally arrived. Then they brought us the bill without us asking or offering desserts/coffee.

In a way I don't blame the waiting staff for all this as they were all very young and seemed to be lacking training or guidance from Management.

We would have loved to give feedback in person rather than write a negative review, but as mentioned there seemed to be no one in charge or...

Wow what a incredible place with the best hospitality team. Nothing is too much trouble from the moment I visited the site a few months ago through to menu ideas and selection through to the night itself. Liz and her team really go above and beyond. We booked for our 25th business anniversary celebrations and had 100 guests. Liz organised the DJ and number lights for us and with her incredible chef Tim and his team put on the most delicious hot buffet of samosas and onion bhajis, Jamaican jerk chicken, jerk butternut squash, morrocan chicken stew, morrocan chickpea stew, rice, 2 incredible salads and brownies. Every single guest LOVED the food. Raved about it. Such great service all night from setting up the layout indoors and outdoors, music, food and drinks it really was such great attention to detail in everything. We will definitely use the venue again for future events and highly recommend it for whatever you may need from business events to weddings to celebrations Thank you Liz to you and your incredible team ❤️ Dee and the 99 other...

We booked our wedding ceremony and reception as part of a twilight package. Liz obviously knows what she’s doing, she advised us well, was very accommodating, she planned the day out with us to help ease any worries my partner had and was always great communicating before hand. The wedding ran smoothly, she was never far away when we needed her to ask any questions or needed help throughout the day. We paid a little more to upgrade the canapés to pulled pork cobs and the food was great ! We had a Saturday wedding so figured we would book Sunday lunch as we needed to collect our things anyway. We had 18 people for dinner and considering the wedding didn’t finish till 12 at night when we arrived the next day they had gone above and beyond to decorate a large table with our decor. Everything else was wrapped up for us neatly in a side room and again great food and service.

Overall I would have no hesitation recommending Liz to any...
