Absolutely incredible day out with the family. You get a detailed map, stickers to mark on a separate sheet as you find the relevant ones at the stops in the maze with really interesting facts mentioned there. I contacted the venue prior to ordering tickets to ask if the maze is open and got an immediate answer. No difference if you order online or on the arrival. I very polite and friendly member of staff welcomes you on arrival and explains everything about the maze. When you complete the maze and tasks on the sheet kids get the reward - Haribo pack and a sticker (a little thing, but very thoughtful). Very tidy place with plenty of free parking space, a playground for younger children, an area for picnic and a small cafe-kiosk offering ice cream and coffee at a reasonable price. I loved the idea of sunflowers rows before entering the maze - very colourful and pretty. Met Louise there who was extremely welcoming and she told us about spooky sessions starting at the end of October - this will be another great time and activity with the family. Highly recommend this place, perfect venue for a family time out in...

Writtle Maize Maze then got in contact with my brother and offered for us to come at another date which we accepted, we then went the next day, it began to chuck it down with rain but we had the best time! The kids loved it and were running around in the maze, enjoyed the park, including sand pit and kicking a football while getting soaking wet and finding lots of muddy puddles.
So thank you for being understanding we took such a long journey and sorting us out for the next day. - have now updated to a...
Read moreVery impressed with the Maize Maze. The maze itself was brilliant (it comes with a helpful map in case you want to use that too), and there is a mini maze for children. Friendly staff and a lovely coffee shed with ice cream available. Plenty of picnic tables & parking. There's also a climbing frame and 2 sandpits for children. Toilets are basic (2 x portaloos) but they were both very clean with plenty of loo roll and proper sinks to wash hands. Worth noting that it's not dog friendly and using a pram in the maze would be very tricky in parts. Overall would...
