Somersall Park is a charming and well-loved local park that offers a serene and family-friendly environment. Situated in the Somersall area, the park is known for its picturesque setting, featuring lush green spaces, mature trees, and the calming presence of the River Hipper, which runs through the park. Key Features: Natural Beauty: The park is beautifully maintained, with plenty of open space for picnics, walks, or simply relaxing in nature. The presence of the river adds a tranquil atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for those looking to unwind. Play Areas: For families, the park boasts a well-equipped children's play area, which is a big draw for parents with young children. The play equipment is modern, safe, and varied, catering to different age groups. Wildlife: The park is home to various wildlife species, particularly around the river, making it a good spot for bird watching or simply enjoying the local flora and fauna. Accessibility: The park is easily accessible with good paths suitable for prams, wheelchairs, and bicycles, making it inclusive for all visitors.

Have been visiting Somersall Park since our now teenage kids were in nappies. I noticed that the small infant area that was nearest the car park has been removed. This was looking tired and needed repair. The park is a huge sprawling area that has multiple entrances and a great varience in sceenery, from the reservoir to the woods. Numerous trails lead in all directions. The car park directly off Somersall Road unfortunately lacks enough space for busy periods, and so recommend seeking alternatives at peak times

The Wobbly wanderers were out again. This time visiting Somersall Park in Chesterfield. This is a small park divided by the River It's good for exercising dogs and for walking to Walton Dam (about 1/2 mile towards Chesterfield. There are two play equipment places for children. One is new this year. It's also handy for Morrisons supermarket near Walton Dam As you walk towards the dam it is possible to feed the Ducks & Swans that inhabit the Dam area. On the downside the football pitch at the Dam end is now overgrown and is an eyesore. Otherwise...
