We found this place by chance and what a fantastic find it was. After speaking with the owner on the phone to see if we could visit we were then met by a lovely gardener who explained where we could go. Connected to the manor is a small church which is also worth visiting and provides a great backdrop to parts of the garden. Everywhere you turn there is something of interest, and there is a lovely sense of this being a lived in place and not just a show piece. This is a place worth visiting at any time of the year and there are plenty of spots to enjoy a flask or a picnic!

The gardens, grounds and lakes are absolutely stunning and the Lady of the house absolutely charming! There's plenty to see and lots of places to wander. The Regency Manor House was built by the Weld family in 1811, a beautiful Italian style Roman Catholic Church adjoins the house. Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson resided here briefly after their marriage in 1986! Please note, visiting is by appointment only, but it's a 'must see'.

Just a quick phone call to arrange the time of our visit and we were welcomed to a beautiful tranquil garden. A lovely peaceful place with lots to enjoy. We spent a very happy hour and half there.

What an unexpectedly delightful experience! We were staying near the gardens for Easter and thought we'd pop by for a quick visit. Little did we realise what a treat lay in store for us. It really was like having a private tour of a National Trust property - incredible gardens to roam around with our two kids (lakes, woodlands, formal gardens and more), the astonishingly atmospheric church (which is a real taste of Italy hidden in rural Dorset), diverse birdlife, and the chance to chat about the property with two of the lovely, accessible, friendly and knowledgeable gardeners. We couldn't recommend a visit to Chideock Manor Gardens highly enough. Thank you, Dierdre, Heather and Phil - we feel very...

I spent a wonderful afternoon with my mother this afternoon, a totally unexpected find whilst exploring the pretty lanes of Dorset. A truly beautiful utopia of stillness and a handsome house with much loved gardens, walled kitchen garden, and many different vistas around each and every corner. We were greeted by a friendly welcome from Heather and a very kind and polite resident assisted my mother to gain accessibility in her wheelchair to the walled garden. We also chatted to a l ovely elderly gardener working hard in the gardens. Very friendly, happy place. A huge thank you for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful...
