A hidden jewel of a day out. Perfect for the less fit, or scramblers alike. A short hill gives an incredible vista. You will ask “where the heck am I? I was in boscombe 10 minutes ago!!” Great for a picnic. Great for the kids with lots to climb and the nature changes rapidly from forest to quarry to ... underground nuclear bunker?

Fantastic billtong in the African shop. Great samosas in the 7/11 in the car park. They are on the counter. Save...

St Catherines Hill on a summers day in August is like a piece of the New Forest placed in Christchurch with its heather and pine. In addition there are good views over and along the Avon valley and the uphill walk offers an opportunity for exercise rewarded by the views. There is parking in st. Catherines Hill lane; if the immediate places are full there are more ten metres futher up...

The New Forest is pretty flat, as far as national parks go, so there are very few places to get an amazing view. If that's what you are after then come here. A SSSI, on the edge of a housing estate, you can walk here for an hour or two and feel renewed. Also there are some strange buildings on the top! If you park near the local parade of shops, when you're done The Bunker does a good coffee.

Just had a fabulous walk around this beautiful nature reserve which has panoramic views of heathland, sea and the Isle of Wight. The Needles were clearly visible! Thanks to another Google reviewer mentioning the free car park in Marsh Lane we had no problem. That was a very helpful tip.
