Completed in 1964, the forth road bridge is a magnificent suspension bridge spanning the river forth waters linking Edinburgh and fife it was a significant engineering achievement, featuring a main span of 1,006 meters. The bridge has facilitated road traffic across the Firth and has been an essential component of Scotland's transport infrastructure. In recent years, it has undergone maintenance and upgrades to ensure its longevity and safety, especially following the construction of the adjacent Queensferry Crossing, in 2017 the firth road bridge is no longer accessible to private cars and Lorrie’s only taxis and buses The Forth Road Bridge is an iconic symbol of Scottish engineering and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. You can walk from south Queensferry to north Queensferry grab breakfast at Scott’s then follow the path up the side of the bridge great viewpoint at north Queensferry to take photos of rail bridge lovely cafes to stop for coffee when returning to bridge go up the other steps which takes you to other side of bridge that way you get great view of the new Queensferry crossing - there is an underpass at other side which takes you back to the start - there is parking at ferry gate if you want to park closer to the bridge

Lovely Bridge, Located in Queensferry Scotland, The fourth Road Bridge, opened in 1981, Connects traffic over the river fourth between Dunfermline and Queensferry. In 2018 Most Car traffic was redirected to the Queensferry Crossing cable-Stayed Bridge To the west of the suspension bridge. The fourth road bridge is the second longest suspension bridge in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧. To cross the Bridge, You'll Need to catch a bus that crosses the bridge or you can walk over, ether the outcome, you will get amazing views of the fourth rail bridge to the east and the Queensferry Crossing to the west.

The three bridges referred as Queensferry crossing connect over the firth of fourth from south Queensferry to the northern side. These are huge bridges and worth paying a visit. There is lots of history about these bridges and the architect who was appointed for this task. A ride through these bridges on clear sunny day 🌻 is not to be missed during your visit in Scotland as they represent the marvel of Scottish modern architecture and development.

I love a walk along the bridge. It can be a bit nerve racking at first, just by the distance from the water and only a waiste hight barrier stopping you from falling off and vibrations on the bridge as a bus passes, but the views and the fresh air is vigarratting. Plus you get to stretch the legs. It's surprising how little time it takes to cross over and back. But I would watch out for speeding cyclists coming up from behind, they dont slow down. So I try and stick to the designated walking area. I would make sure you have a good toilet break as there is nothing on route. But there is Mcdonlds on the south side, ideal for a pit stop and then walk back. Its bucket...
