Pentland Hills Regional Park (Swanston) — Attraction in City of Edinburgh

Beautiful but challenging set of walks in the Pentland Hills. Car park of around 30 spaces next to Swanston Golf Course is your starting point for a few different walks. We did the 'City View' walk which takes you up the hill on a muddy path starting just past Swanston village and running beside Swanston Burn. Ahead is Caerketton Hill Summit but as the burn ends you take a left towards Hillend Ski Centre (with cafe). You get fantastic views of South Edinburgh before walking down the hill to Biggar Road (A702). Easy to spot Highland Coos. Highland Coos seemed to know their angles very well when people were taking photos/selfies with them. lol Sometimes the herd enjoyed sunbathing on Allermuir. My friends and I stopped by the Brasserie and asked for directions from the friendly staff. It was a nice short hike up to see Highland Coos. A very doable hike and very pretty as well.
