I love this place. I've been coming here for around 6 years now and almost every day for the last 4 years. As an avid dog lover I have a border collie whom needs a great deal of mental stimulation as well as a good old walk. With Kenfig pool/dunes you have the chance to walk a thousand different paths, explore multiple nature spots for bird watching or visit the castle ruins. My dog loves it and so do my kids. If you catch the timing just right you can experience a sunset that people pay to see going on holiday abroad and to top it all off if you get to the beach it's beautifully clean and a dog beach. It's worth the walk. But please dint be there when I'm there I like it all to my self.

Nice quiet setting great wen you wanna avoid busy beaches when temps are at their peak in mid-summer only down side is there's a lot of dog walkers and some you find let their dogs of leads which can be conserning for a mother like myself out with her children

In the 60/70s my parents used to have a caravan by the pool which I fished (never caught anything) and, as grandparents lived Port Talbot, we'd often have a family day collecting dewberries in the dunes... and lock-in nights in the Prince of Wales with the police coming in at 00:30 ... for a few...
