This glorious garden is often overlooked, in favour of its National Trust neighbour, Hidcote. It's definitely worth the effort. The site offers stunning views, and a steep slope down which is cleverly terraced, with a lovely half moon pool at the bottom. Gorgeous, but a bit of a stretch if you have mobility issues. There's more than enough to keep you enthralled on the flat main part of the garden, with a series of pretty 'rooms' and impressive colourist borders. The rose garden was sadly past its prime when we visited in early August, though the variety, size and rich colours of the hydrangea beds were mind-blowing. The gardens are the work of three generations of female gardeners, and their passion and expert knowledge is in evidence throughout. I'm personally less keen on more recent 'statement' sculptural additions, but even if they're not to your taste, there's more than enough to satisfy a plant-lover or casual visitor. There's also a cafe on-site, and a small plant stall, featuring some of the unusual plants you'll see in the...

What a lovely house, garden and location. Quite a famous place for garden lovers, my wife being one! Privately owned, check website for opening hours. The team most helpful both on the day and online, as I has contacted them prior to visit to check on hours and restrictions. The grounds and gardens were superb with amazing vistas and views making the most of the location. The garden has been set out to cater for the current covid restrictions and works well. Due to the garden levels you need to be reasonably fit and able to negotiate some of the routes but it is certainly worth the effort as we really enjoyed our time there and would certainly recommend. The added bonus is it is just down a short road from Hidcote Manor, so if you like your gardens this is a...

Tips for visiting Chipping Campden 🇬🇧 Save for later! Chipping Campden is one of the prettiest and perfectly preserved towns in the North Cotswolds. It’s worth a spot on any Cotswolds itinerary, whether you spend a couple of hours wandering around or choose to stay in the town as your Cotswolds base 🍃 Tips for visiting Chipping Campden:
🚗 There is both a small car park and some on-street parking available in Chipping Campden. During busy times of the year it can be difficult to snag a spot, so best to arrive early if you can. 🚶‍♀️ Chipping Campden is located on the Cotswolds Way, so it’s the ideal base for countryside walks. 🌸 For those who love exploring gardens, both Hidcote Manor Garden and Kiftsgate Court Gardens are just outside of the town. 🍴 Popular places to eat include Michael’s Mediterranean, Eight Bells Inn, Badgers Hall and Huxleys. 🎶 If you’re going in May, be sure to visit for the Chipping Campden Music Festival. Save for later or head over to the blog for more Cotswolds travel inspiration ☺️ A Cotswolds itinerary is coming soon but it’ll only be available to email subscribers — you can sign up via the link in my bio 🤍 ——— #cottagecore #cotswolds #thecotswolds #discovercotswolds #cotswoldslife #gloucestershire #cottagecoreaesthetic #cottagelife #chippingcampden #visitengland #escapetheeveryday #escapethecity #escapetothecountry #uktravel #ukbreaks #ukstaycation #englandtravel #uktravelblogger #visitbritain #lovegreatbritain #thisprettyengland #englishcountryside #scenicbritain #loveengland #englandsbigpicture #beautifulengland #englandtrip #mytinyatlas #sheisnotlost #darlingescapes
