Egypt Point is the southernmost point of the Isle of Wight, offering stunning coastal views and a picturesque lighthouse. The area is known for its rugged beauty, with dramatic cliffs and a peaceful atmosphere. It’s a great spot for a walk along the coastline, ideal for photography, nature lovers, or those seeking a quiet retreat. The lighthouse adds a historic touch, and the surrounding area is perfect for enjoying the fresh sea breeze and scenic views across the channel.

A lovely promenade if you have (like me) a love for the yachty side of the IOW coastline. Great surfaces for bikes, scooters, and skates with plenty of space to dodge others. Not enough sand for castles but plenty of interesting stones and polished glass for collecting/skimming. A lovely walk in either direction (to Gurnard or Cowes) with ice creams at either end or half way along. All with a backdrop of a healthy variety of nautical traffic.

Free car park with interesting history and fabulous walks through the wood. Cafe was a welcome visit after the walking and sitting outside enjoying some super views of the solent and Hurst Spit. The only negative was the toilet facilities. Not the best but served their purpose.

Whenever we go to Cowes we always park our car at this point for several reasons. One of which is free parking if parking to the left of Egypt Point. Secondly the view of the Solent from this area is fabulous and it is an excellent walk into Cowes with constant views of the action in the Solent and great for...
