Amazing cave with the Holy Well of St Cuthbert's Cave inside on the left of the entrance. The fresh water from the spring in the cave is said to "have healing properties" 😳.

Beautiful limestone rock formations and drop-pools that look like they're made of honeycomb are just inside left of the main cave entrance. Give your eyes a few moments to adjust to the low light to see them if it's bright / sunny outside. The smaller upper cave is where the freshwater spring falls from (The Holy Well). It's a little slippery in places to get to the top (flip-flops might not be the best to climb in). Don't forget to take a torch to see all the colours inside, or a reasonable camera / mobile phone.

IMPORTANT - Head out to the cave if it's a falling tide. You won't get a chance to see anything if it's high tide - or risk getting stranded if it's on the way in! The correct cave can be identified by the enormous timber log that's trapped inside the rocks on the right side of the cave. You can easily see this when you stand at the entrance to...

i could not find it, there were no signs, i entered each accessible big hole, in vain, first person did not know it, but next person took me there - plenty of big rocks are in front of the entrance. it was just another hole, not a cave to my criteria. the well was there, one guy told me to get up there so i did although i was worried climbing there was not safe. i took pics, then going down i fell down on the rocks, they are wet. i hit my bottom and tigh. probably my rucksack was heavy for such climbing. i will not...

Not quite a well, but a natural spring popping out into a big cave. It's beautiful and feels like it has an energy of it's own. Visiting it, its history clings to the air and you feel like you could be in another time. That is, provided there aren't a heap of kids/dogs/pensioners slipping around on the rocks.

You can 100% see why people thought it was holy, definitely worth a visit along with a walk along the beach or cliffs.

The whole area is beautiful and holy well only...
