Simon G. 23rd May 2024. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Bonython Garden Estate today. We had no trouble finding it, and parking was easy, with tree cover providing shade for a good number of cars if needed. Dogs are welcome. The gardener responsible for taking admission fees was friendly, knowledgeable, approachable, and a pleasure to meet. (A credit to his employers). Although he couldn't quite accept Extra Strong Mints as legal tender, he gladly accepted one as a light-hearted gratuity, made a fuss of our Weimaraner (which she always enjoys), and helped us identify the Thalictrum (Meadow rue) that shimmered entertainingly in the breeze. See!, I'm not even the horticulturist compared to my partner, but still found it sufficiently engaging to have remembered. The features and layout of the garden itself make it a very relaxing and attractive venue. You could wiz round it in half an hour, but we found several of the vistas tranquil enough to feel tempted simply to sit for a while, and soak in the stimulating arrangement of water features and exotic plants. We did read one very isolated review that suggested that access can be problem for those with limited mobility. I have to say we really couldn't agree with this assessment. All of the areas seemed sufficiently smooth, firm, not too steep and wide enough to accommodate wheel chairs, push chairs, walking aids, and mobility scooters, and there weren't any steps or stairs at all...

The most fantastic gardens, I was truly blown away! Talking to the owners, each plant was hand-planted and the vision that went into these gardens was just incredible. I can’t believe some could have such a wonderful imagination to come up with this! There were little tea rooms which were very quaint and lots of interesting photos of the gardens along the way to becoming what they are now. I’m not usually a huge fan of gardens but I would highly recommend a visit when the flowers are in bloom - it...

Rather big and gorgeous garden. We visted in early sep and still so much going on. Diffrent part of garden has diffrent feels and all super well looked after. Love to come in spring and mid sunmer some time. Inspirational and relaxing. Very quiet when we were here , secret gem. Relaxed feel with honesty box for tea and cakes that you can drink sitting at the top of the orchard hill viewing the water lilies at pond below. One of the favorite gardens i...

Visited today and have to admit that the gardens are nice and the ponds are gorgeous, but found the £8 entrance fee a little excessive considering it was only 1 mile to walk the entire way around the open grounds. On the NGS website it boasted of a 20 acre colour garden, we followed the arrows dotted about and didn't come across anything of the sort. I'm glad I've been and it's crossed off my list now.
