Northern Ireland’s largest and most beautiful urban park, Lurgan Park is the second biggest Park in Ireland, the biggest being Phoenix Park in Dublin. Located around an expansive man made lake, it has 5 km of pathways through mature woodland and open grassland. The Park was once part of the Brownlow estate and is still overlooked by Brownlow Castle today. The Park is over 250 acres in size and boosts many paths for walking, a super play area and large green spaces. The Park can be found tucked in behind the market town of Lurgan and can be described as a ‘hidden gem’. The Park lake has been stocked with Roach, Bream and Tench and there are 20 newly constructed fishing stands allowing the visiting angler excellent access to this beautiful resource. As well as a pleasant place to walk, Lurgan Park has much to offer, such as a super play park, tennis courts, bowling green, cricket wicket and football pitches. Mobility scooters can be borrowed free of charge (pre booking is essential) for those less able to access the Park. Rowing boats can also be hired during the summer months. (c)getactiveabc

🍂LURGAN PARK🍂 🌳Lurgan Park is NI’s largest park and what a beautiful park it is. With landscaped walkways, a super play park, the grand Brownlow house, a gorgeous lake and a stunning historic oak tree lined avenue. 🥾With various walks ranging from a full lap of the park and lake at 2 miles or a dander round the woodland area at just over half a mile. 🛝A fabulous play park is here catering to all ages and abilities. From roundabouts to swings and tall climbing towers. ⛲️You can also find a historic water fountain, tennis courts, bowling green, cricket and football pitches. ☕️You can find the @thequirkybirdtearooms here grab a coffe or a sweet treat. ℹ️ The opening times of the Park varies throughout the year from 7am till sunset. (Check @getactiveabc for times.) Plenty of seating dotted around the park, toilets available onsite and free parking.

Very local to me so often enjoy many walks around this place. Went tonight for the fireworks display with the kids who absolutely loved it. Here is my favorite pic of tonight! Youngest boy has sensory issues an loud noises is one of them. Big brother to the rescue! He was able to manage as long as big brother covered his ears! Massive play park for kids beautiful lake can feed the ducks does some amazing days for kids over the years easter egg hunts fireworks displays fun days out door cinemas etc. Not a place you would like to be I'm the evening though as it is gathering with teens fighting/drinking ect but recently read in local newspaper they are starting to put security in it which will make it safer.

The best park in Northern Ireland without doubt. Beautiful scenery, local historical sights is brownlow house ( Orange headquarters). Queen Victoria fountain. Wide open spaces. Rugby pitches, cricket pavilion, football pitches & also a place for joggers & Walker's. Lurgan park show, rally racing on show here. Bird watchers will find a good place for swan's, mallards, coot's & moorhens. Also not a uncommon place too spot the odd species of geese. Grey squirrel not uncommon I dare you to go for a walk & not spot one!!! Tennis courts also available. Golf course just off grounds. Three entrances & obliviously three exits. Robert St entrance has the wave complex ie swimming pool, squash courts, gym & as far I have been told also saunas. Brilliant place to go to get...
