This is a fascinating place in it's own right or as a starting point for great walks and cycle rides! Modest and reasonable charges apply for parking but this is surfaced. There are drinks/light refreshments available on site as is cycle hire. Close by is Middleton Top Engine House where a very early Victorian stationary steam engine is operated upon certain days. Went over to Middleton Top last weekend, but we were both surprised by the high charge (£7) for a days parking (to the extent that we didn't buy a cup of tea to compensate). Parsley Hay and other car parks along the trail are currently less than £5, and this fee should reduce to reflect that. Read moreGreat place to park for exploring the High Peak Trail. It has plenty of parking, bike hire, free toilets, a cafe and a few picnic benches, all set within beautiful surroundings. It's right next to one of the old engine houses, which is very interesting.
