Just had a walk down memory lane.... My grandparents, grate auntie on nans side and grate uncle and aunt on grandads, all lived down Blewitt St. So I aways over middle pool, catching frogs/toads, the edge of the pool were black with tadpoles, watching my brother fishing, in the 1980s. There have been a lot of landscaping since I was last there, it looks now more loved and cared for. Lots of dog walkers, some people were fishing it was nice remembering. I'm a keen photographer so I have taken lots of photos.

You can literally walk for miles around here. Pity some numpty recently decided to empty two of the pools... Hope you're pleased with yourself, personally I'd put you in the naughty corner for your age times 100 😠. It's not a place for wheelchairs/buggies I suppose some access is possible (we walk from the high acres) you'd have to check Google maps for parking etc nearer the tarmac paths.

Such an oasis. Three large pools all teaming with wildlife. Not far from Russell Hall hospital. A few fishermen there. Kids playing. I’ve read good and bad things about here. I found it quiet and pleasant. A little urban paradise. Parking is limited at the lower pool so you may have to park on the road and walk in

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Buckpool and Fens Pool Local Nature Reserve and was thoroughly impressed with its beauty and diversity. The reserve is home to a wide range of habitats, including ancient woodland, meadows, and wetlands, which provide a haven for a variety of wildlife.

One of the highlights of my visit was the birdwatching. I was fortunate enough to spot several species of birds, including the elusive marsh harrier and the colorful kingfisher. The reserve is also home to a variety of other animals, such as deer, foxes, and rabbits.

I would highly recommend a visit to Buckpool and Fens Pool Local Nature Reserve to anyone who enjoys spending time outdoors and appreciates the natural world. The reserve is a beautiful and peaceful place that offers something...

When my kids were small it was our lovely treat to go and play at Fence pool. Enjoy watching the fishermen then crossover to Waterfront and begin our adventure. It's so wonderful walking along the canal past Merry Hill, waving at all those colourful boats and creating our own stories about how life will be like to own or live in a canal boat. We would walk up to Stourbridge have something to eat , go for a swim at the lovely swimming pool in Stourbridge then enjoy a bus ride back home. These are good memories and we still talk about our walks in Fence pool, those little ponies with big eyes, the ducks and picking world flowers. To chase butterflies with your children. What else could beat this...
