Disgusted at how we’ve been treated on a recent out of season visit to Branscome Beach. The problem arose from parking ticket and us mistakingly believing we had paid enough for 2 hours it was not made clear we had only paid for one hour we had 2 cars between 5 of us. We were 18 minuets over the hour and we believed at the time we’d left early it was only when we’d been back home for a week we received two £60 fines claiming we had not purchased tickets at all! We appealed the fines as we still had the tickets when we told them that we still had the tickets they changed there story from saying we had no tickets to we were 18 minuets over. So all together they’ve made around £145-£150 out of us as we also spent money in the overpriced cafe where we bought stale scones hot and cold drinks (we also ended up having to leave our pots of tea as we have 2 dogs so had to sit outside but the tables had not been cleaned so we were overrun by wasps to the point where we couldn’t sit there and eat) so to anyone visiting in the future be careful when paying for car park as it’s not clearly stated how much you need to pay depending on how long you stay. We certainly will not visit Branscome again as it feels like they’ve just squeezed as much money as they...

Our first visit to this picturesque part of the English coast. Plenty of parking, toilets including disabled that appear to be used by everyone. The adjoining building encompasses a restaurant cafe and an ice cream parlor, offering really top notch ice cream including vegan options and doggy ice cream too. WALKING HACK: if you wish to visit Hooken Cliffs take the normal gate across from the car park. Then walk straight up towards the top of the hill, you will come across a path made out of two concrete stripes, turn left and walk down this concrete path towards the houses. Take the gate and walk past the first house and you will see a public footpath sign pointing to the path that climbs up the hill, follow this path it will be a little steep to begin with but it's a lot easier than the default route which climbs up the steep hill with unlimited steps. You will be rewarded with...

One of my favourite bays. Descend the steep road and keep going in till you arrive at the car park. Pay at the car park but the beach is national trust. There is a unique cafe with sea views. Open till 5pm. Perfect place to eat. Lots on the menu and licenced. For dog owners there is a fresh water stream that your furry friend will enjoy. Be very careful about parking. This is a private car park. We got caught up in waiting for the cafe and once home got a parking fine for overstaying. 20mins.. Very aggressive parking letters. That was an expensive trip we won't be going again. Which is a shame for the loss of custom to the cafe. AVOID THIS CAR PARK unless you put lots of money in it. What a rip off. Don't dare use the loos. The cars are on camera coming and going so if you think you're going to "just pop to the loo" DON'T. £100...

Another wonderful beach in the Jurassic coast. You get to to the beach after driving down a couple of miles of narrow roads to find a decent-sized car park where you can pay with cash, by card or with Ringo. There are toilets (suggested donation of 20p for use). As with many of the beaches in this area, it's pebble. There's a nice circular walk you can do that follows part of the coastal path. I've attached photos from the board displayed on the beach. The walk took us 53 minutes for the 3km route but nearer 90 minutes in total as we stopped so many times to admire the views, take photos and talk to other walkers. The path is very narrow in places with quite a few steps and is also very steep in some places also (you'll climb about 135m in total and a total descent of over 100m), however is spectacular.

Beautiful and stunning scenery. There's a restaurant and parking (you have to pay) is close by. The lanes are a little cramped, so do take care on the road. It's a pebble beach so no sand. I recommend shoes for the ocean paddling as it can be a little painful to walk on. It is perfect for dog walks and stretches far across for space. There's also a shop for beach items and ice-creams. There are cliffside walks and lots of places to picnic. The only shame is your bucket and spade won't make a sandcastle! There isn't enough sand for it, but great for rock pools and looking at beautiful stones. Car park is quite spacious especially if you are trying to park for the day.
