From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a wonderfully friendly admission lady who made us feel right at home. Having pre-purchased our tickets with a QR code, the entry process was seamless. She not only informed us about the names of the animals but also shared the schedule for the feeding events, which added an extra layer of excitement to our day. The parking facilities were plentiful and well laid out, making it easy for us to navigate with a pram. The walk through to the park was clean, with wide pathways that were clearly signposted, making it accessible for our family, which includes my 80-year-old mother and my energetic 3-year-old son. I was particularly impressed by the availability of mobility scooter rentals for just £5, a thoughtful touch that shows Wolds truly cares about all visitors. Initially, I had some apprehensions after reading a few reviews, but I can confidently say that our love for animals of all sizes was met with joy. The animals at Wolds are clearly well cared for and loved by their keepers, and the enclosures were spacious enough for their numbers. We also enjoyed a visit to the gift shop, which had reasonably priced items, and the café where we had three hot drinks and chips. While the food was decent for the price, it was the overall experience that truly stood out. The highlights of our visit were undoubtedly the lions, tigers, and the cheeky monkeys! If you have a cheeky monkey like we do, you’ll be pleased to know there’s a play park to help burn off some of that energy. In summary, we were not disappointed at all and thoroughly enjoyed our day viewing all the amazing animals. I wholeheartedly recommend Wolds to anyone looking for a fun and family-friendly outing. Thank you for taking the time to read about our experience. I hope you consider...
Read moreIf I had to describe this place in one word it would be AMAZING! I have never been to a zoo that allows you to be so close and have such a good view of the animals. It’s clear that all the animals at the park are loved and well cared for. I attended the zoo on Saturday when they hosted a fundraiser day for the snow leopard. Which I thought was great. It helped to raise awareness for this endangered species. I was also lucky enough to speak to one of the zoo keepers who gave me an insight of the new up and coming changes they are making to further the enrichment for the animals and improve the enclosure even more. I felt all the enclosures for the animals were well maintained and all the animals look very happy. It’s clear that this zoo takes pride in what they do and they really do care for the animals. You can clearly see the upgrades to the park in motion and I can’t wait to come back again soon and see how this park is growing and getting better by the day. I spoke to Dylan, one of the zoo keepers who was very knowledgeable and it was amazing to hear some great information on the animals at the park and to hear some of the exciting plans. I would highly recommend people to visit this place. It is perfect for family’s . With plenty of food and drinks options. And a great little play area for the kids. There is many feeding experience that they offer at this zoo , if you like big cats , such as lions and tigers then this place is a must. If your lucky enough to be there when the lions start to roar, you’ll experience a sound like no other. In my opinion this is the best zoo I have ever visited in terms of seeing animals clearly and so close. Highly recommend and will definitely be back soon. Thank you wolds wildlife park for the amazing...
Read moreWolds Wildlife Park is a wonderful place to visit. I know there are people who say places like this shouldn't exist but if you look closer at the work they do and the care they provide to the animals then it is clear this is an important establishment both in terms of bringing people up close and personal to animals but also with regard to animal preservation. Where else are you going to be able to get safely within 4 feet of a bear or a lion. However, you do need to be careful that you don't get sprayed with urine by the big cats! It was particularly beautiful to see baby wallabies being carried in their mothers' pouches. Also, it was great to see how much animals such as monkeys have in their enclosures to keep them occupied. The only thing I would like improved is the signage on the enclosures. A number of them have multiple sides but a sign on only one of them. Also it would be good to see the entrance area finished finally but I am all too aware that these things cost lots of money that is in short supply these days. There are a few places to buy food and drink and also now a big yurt in which to consume them. There is a small but excellent quality playground for children to play in. However, I could imagine it getting easily swamped in busy summer months. The toilets were incredibly well looked after. It is rare to see public toilets so clean and tidy I would happily visit here again when I can (it is around 40 miles away) and I would certainly encourage many others to do so. The more people visit, the more the animals can be looked after and improvements...
