A hidden gem of a Roman fort off Deere Street. The footpath goes around the fort, where the earthworks are clearly still visible, with some gates. Amazingly some of the gates are still used for access, mostly as footpaths. A road goes through the middle of the fort, whith a few houses situated inside.

The fort is basically intact , mostly underground, with signs of the perimeter wall...

Fantastically located with tantalising glimpses of original stonework standing to full height- this fort is well worth the diversion if you are a serious enthusiast. It is not interpreted and therefore is not recommended for casual visitors. Thank you to the landowners for making the rampart...

There's not much to see unfortunately, as it has just disappeared over time, you can see the wall of the fort in places, but there is a plaque with info and it's a lovely place for a walk. You can make out the Fort across the river...

Plenty car parking space Remains of gatehouse and wall section. Info board in adjoining field. Buildings in the hamlet constructed using some blocks robbed from the fort in days past. Not very much to see

There's not much to see unfortunately, as it has just disappeared over time, you can see the wall of the fort in places, but there is a plaque with info and it's a lovely place for a walk. You can make out the Fort across the river too from here.
