Play French Boules, otherwise known as Pétanque, with a group of people usually numbering 8 to 12. The play area is located about 50 yards to the left of the entrance to the park. There are 2 pitches to play on. The loose pebbled ground is very uneven in places and really needs to be flattered as the Boules run away quite wildly at times. The game is a lot of fun and would be even better and more controllable if the grounds were evened out. Who ever is the caretaker / in charge of these grounds, please examine and rectify this play areas shortcomings, thank you on advance.

It was good to see the grass being mowed by a machine attached to a tractor.

The Pétanque play area has many loose wooden sleepers unevenly piled along the edge of the pitch, looks quite unsightly, definitely needs tidying. Also there is quite a large area where these sleepers are where some plants / flowers could be planted, would make the area look more attractive.

There are 2 benches to sit on, which is very nice. There is also a table and bench combination where the wood work in in need to attention.

There were some children playing in a water park part adjacent to us, that was good to see. They wee having fun. It was also good to see that an attendant brushed the leaves and debri away before putting the water on, so bravo.

It is a nice park coups be better. Hope to see the issues investigated...

I recently visited a beach that was more of a pebble shore than a traditional sandy beach, but it was still a great experience. The highlight of the beach was the cute cafe that was located right on the shore. It had a great selection of food and drinks, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The prices were a little high, but the quality of the food and the view made it worth it.

The beach also had a ship for kids to play on, which was a great addition. The ship was well-maintained and had plenty of activities for kids to enjoy. It was a great way to keep the kids entertained while we relaxed and enjoyed the view.

While the beach wasn't ideal for swimming or sunbathing, it was still a nice place to spend an afternoon. The views were beautiful, and the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. There were plenty of benches and picnic tables for people to sit and enjoy the scenery.

One downside to the beach was the parking was limited, so it was important to arrive early to secure a spot.

Overall, I would recommend this beach to anyone who is looking for a peaceful and relaxing afternoon. The cafe and ship were great additions, and the views were stunning. While it may not be the best beach for swimming or sunbathing, it's still a great place to spend some time with...

Grays Beach Riverside Park is an absolute gem for families and children! This sandy playground is a delightful haven where kids can let their imaginations run wild. The soft, golden sand provides a perfect cushion for little feet and knees, making it an ideal spot for digging, building sandcastles, or just enjoying some barefoot fun.

The playground equipment offers a great variety of activities to keep children of all ages entertained. From swings and slides to climbing frames and interactive play areas, there's something for everyone. The park's design ensures that children can play safely while parents relax on the nearby benches.

The surrounding greenery adds to the charm, making it a great retreat for a family day out. There is a café nearby for refreshments.

Grays Beach Riverside Park is recommended for anyone looking to spend quality time outdoors...

Been going here since my daughter has been born. Now she's four & she still loves it. Since Covid/lockdown the cafe has changed owners & it is a massive improvement, better menu, much cleaner inside & outside. They have taken the bins directy outside the cafe which means a lot less bloody wasps. We just had a portion of chips, which argubly was a bit exspensive but they were very nice & the portion was big. The beach was & always is very clean, there is now a new play ship built which my daughter loved. Over the past year they have built a splash park with fountains etc. Again my daughter loved it, it was managed & kept clean very well. There is a small cost £2.70 for 25minites or £5 for an all day wrist band. Overall it was a good day at grays beach & its free, so whats better then that. Will defently be going back.

Amazing place, you better buy parking for at least 3 hrs. There is so much to explore here. Advised to take a few sets of change of cloths and shoe which is easy to remove as sand will go everywhere, better remove it. About the park, there is a toddler area which is fenced so the little ones can’t just run off. It has a small slide and little things to enjoy. In the giant sandpit there is thinks to do for all ages and there is wheelchair accessible play area too. Outside of the sandpit there are swings, and also wheelchair accessible play stuff. There is plenty green area to do your own games too. There is entertainment this time of the year, small train, big train, water play, mini golf - these you have to pay for around £2 or a bit more. There is a cafe and toilets.
