Oliver's Mount Racing — Attraction in England

Just been to The Spring Cup for both days, pulled up Friday night, terrible weather, in our camper and was quickly placed for the night without drama, staff were very helpful in challenging circumstances. The facilities are very good, no complaints. The event itself ran without problems, any delays due to racing incidents dealt with quickly, spectators given updates constantly, race commentary spot on and informative, the event had plenty of catering facilities, various food and drink choices, merchandise outlets, big marquee for beer & live music all well managed. Lastly the racing itself.. If you haven't been before and love road racing it's close-up, fast and exciting stuff. Narrow track, low hedges and fences you can pop your head over, hairpins and flat out sections all round, accessible paddock area where friendly and welcoming competitors are chatting to the spectators, signing autographs and answering questions about their bikes...... and between races, when all goes quiet..... tweeting birds, great surroundings and like-minded people to chat to. If you like motorcycle road racing, then this is the place. In fact the only roads circuit in England. Bring your walking boots as there are plenty of very varied vantage points almost everywhere. Under new ownership, the Barry Sheene Classic was their first event and no doubt lots was learnt in preparation for the September meeting. My main disappointment was being unable to access the paddock area, which costs £10, because they had run out of the necessary wristbands. It's quite a tortuous walk to the paddock, especially if you've got a few miles on the clock like me, so try and buy a paddock band at the information hut near the trade stands, before...

We stayed for the long bank holiday weekend and the place is amazing. Other reviews don't give it justice. Yes there's cut grass but that's it. The ground is flat, the space is massive, its quiet, other campers were friendly. The gent onsite is your best asset. From the minute we arrived he was so helpful. Provided our own bin and brought over a bench, bins were emptied daily. The toilet and shower block were spotless & cleaned twice a day. Always stocked with plenty of soap, toilet rolls, hand towels. There's drinking water and hot washing up point. Seriously can't go wrong with the location, 20 mins in to scarborough sea front. A great group of...
